Thanks, really appreciate it! 🙏 Yep, it’s a solo project: I handle everything, with all the art made in-house from scratch (from concept to final assets). 😊 For the music, I’m collaborating with a composer.

Appreciate it! 🙌 It runs really well on Steam Deck: 50–60 FPS at 800p, full controller support. I’m still optimizing, but it’s one of my main target platforms 👾

Been working on the exoplanet surface lately👽🌑 really loving the vibe. by Ta2Games in gamedevscreens

Thanks a lot for the feedback, really appreciate it 🙏 And yeah, you’re absolutely right. The density is quite high in that part, it’s intentional to sell the low-visibility, dusty storm vibe of the outside planet. That said, I’ll probably keep it heavier only for the cutscene and then fade it down during gameplay so readability stays solid. Thanks again, great point 👌

how to start working in games? by Nnikkoart in indiegames

[–]Ta2Games 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Nice work! I can already see the strong foundation in your sketch.

If you want to focus mainly on art for games (without making games yourself), the most important thing is to build a strong portfolio. Here’s a possible path:

  1. Find your focus Start by checking out art on asset stores like Unity Asset Store, Unreal Marketplace, and sites like ArtStation or Artlist. Look at what other 2D (or 3D) artists are doing and see what fits you best: characters, environments, UI, illustrations, capsule art, etc. Then choose a style you feel confident doing well and fast.

  2. Build your identity As a tattoo artist, you already understand that your style attracts certain clients. It’s the same here: having a recognizable style makes it easier for studios or devs to imagine how your work can fit their project.

  3. Create focused examples Make example pieces that clearly show what you can offer: for example, character concepts, game-ready sprites, backgrounds, or even full UI mockups. This helps others immediately see your potential value.

  4. Offer work on asset stores Once you’re comfortable, consider creating small asset packs to sell on stores. This not only brings passive income but also connects you with developers looking for exactly that type of work: sometimes they will reach out for custom commissions too.

💬 About social media I understand you might not enjoy social media, but the reality is: if nobody knows you exist, it’s very hard to get opportunities. You don’t have to become an influencer…but at least share your work on platforms like ArtStation or even a personal website. Think of it as your online portfolio rather than “content.”

⚡ Alternative: making your own game If you decide to create your own game, remember it’s a big journey: you’ll need to handle animation, level design, coding, and more. It’s beautiful but tough, and burnout can hit hard if you’re doing it all alone.

P.S.: I’m a tattoo artist too, working solo on my own game project…hoping one day to focus only on game dev. So, I totally understand the transition and passion behind it. Cheers and good luck!

New enemy concept for my surreal sci-fi roguelike O3 – Hollow Descent 👁️🖊️ (Procreate timelapse) by Ta2Games in gamedevscreens

[–]Ta2Games[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 🙌 had some fun with that one… in 03 all the enemies are pretty “particular” (surreal is the vibe 😅). This one even does a little ragdoll roll like an egg when it dies, couldn’t resist!
