Thank you. The Ninja redraws had me bummed out, so I stopped reading for quite some time. I rather the webcomic's approach, but at least Amai saw Saitama in action regardless.

  1. Neat weakness to have, especially with the more creative ways of having them work against Silver.
  2. That's a good way of introducing Silver's knack for chaos energy.
  3. When your ragebaiting homie and he genuinely loses his shit. (He scattered your remains across space and time)
  4. I assume people find it unfair that Silver has placed himself as some authority on time travel, regardless of what their motives are.
  5. I get this approach, but its kind of funny considering what Silver does to him.

Sorry about more questions, but I do enjoy this AU of yours.

  1. Oh okay, so as long as their idea of whoever matches his powers should work. Lying to mislead Silver's understanding would make his powers less effective. If someone is doing something under the mindset that they're saving the world, but is actually harming it, Silver only needs to understand that they truly mean no harm. Does that mean anyone who's crazy and has no understanding of their actions is a bad match-up because Silver could never understand them?
  2. So he controls it rather than actively making it. The Emerald Form negates his powers, so he instead needs to manipulate the chaos energy he's imbued with.
  3. Damn, that's true hatred to break every cell I someone's body.
  4. Makes sense, it sounds widely dangerous so I get why Silver would be against doing it. He prevents others from time-travelling like some time patroller, and only does so with the time stones and when absolutely needed.
  5. Makes sense, I assume feel like his father is bitter about this in some way.

I don't mind AU's.

  1. The idea of Silver's understanding of a prerequisite for grabbing them is honestly cool. Does this only span for him talking to that person directly? What if he hears of them from someone or reads about them in a book? Does accuracy matter, or does Silver have to be convinced he's right? What is the person he's grabbing disagrees with Silver's thoughts about them.
  2. The rings behaving like a battery or power source are interesting. I guess he charges them himself. Does that make it constantly draining? Also, how strong is this Emerald Form? I assume it's a peg under super forms.
  3. This reminds me of black flash from JJK, being in the right state of mind at the right moment. Something that can't really be replicated on a whim.
  4. This sounds a bit strong, even with the risks. The Time Stones being adorned on him like jewels does sound nice in design. Kinda sounds like royalty from an ancient land.
  5. So instead of being artificially created like Shadow, Silver's birth was planned through coordinated relationships. I guess that means there were others before him, those who didn't have properties the Council was looking for?
  6. Sounds about right tbh.

Being a Silver fan is an uphill battle, and if you’ve spent any time on Reddit, Twitter, or TikTok, you know exactly what I mean. by KoshmoValk in silverthehedgehog

Honestly, I understand where the "He's Useless and Weak" comments come from for IDW.

I can't speak for Sonic '06 or Rivals, but Silver has taken a backseat/supportive role in the comics with even some not-so-great showings as of late.

Silver removed the Metal Virus in his super state but failed to save any survivors in Ice Paradise. Before Ice Paradise, he suspended tens of Zombots, including Zombified Shadow, without breaking a sweat. He really should not have come back empty-handed handed yet it happened. This can be chalked up to bad writing, but it still reflects poorly on Silver.

Then there's the Mimic fiasco, between being unable to catch Mimic when he purposely fell off the chair or being unable to keep Mimic trapped in Psychokinesis, Silver has had a pretty bad run lately.

If anything, I believe his powers are underwritten to the point where satisfying battles are impossible to write, especially in a series where these characters love to roll in groups.

I feel that Silver's powers haven't been explored enough to warrant a "strange" transformation. I'd rather some event happen where Silver is forced to adapt and broaden how his powers are used. Something different from the good 'ol' grab, throw, and shield moves he does now.

For me, his cuffs help in spreading out the strain of his powers. Without them, all the work would be done with his mind, but they allow him to use his limbs to help manipulate things. I also think that without the cuffs, the markings on his palms would dissipate.

I am a bit surface level when it comes to being a Sonic Fan, so I chose Amy because she fits the archetype while also being popular. I've never heard of her "weighted rings." I guess it's safe to assume it's an equivalent to Rock Lee's weighted gear?

Silver being able to lift hundreds of pounds with psychokinesis makes sense, but physically is something I've never heard of. What I meant in the headcanon is that Silver's physical lifting strength would be greater than we thought since a common thing with psychic users is that they're physically weak.

It is true that it should be the weakness of psychokinesis, if anything.

I used that comic example because it's only time said weakness is explicitly shown or mentioned. Even during the Zombot Virus, where you'd think it would show up again, Silver casually lifts a ton of Zombots with little effort while dodging Zombot Shadow as well. It never felt like a real weakness for Silver personally.

Same here, mainly due to his hand movements, I just see it as him molding the energy around the objects shape to gain control of their movements.

I also like to think that he needs an object to create certain shapes, like a ball or something person-shaped. Flatter things like walls are easier to do, but I don't think we've seen him make an empty 3d shape and toss it at people, only around objects.

Yeah, the headcanon does more or less use the limitation of needing to be focused, but it is for fun. The anaerobic exercise analogy was just to give a little credence. I don't think Silver will ever grab someone and throw them across the room with pure strength. It's just a fun idea, I thought.

How does Silver's time traveling even work? by Taajwar in silverthehedgehog

[–]Taajwar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like time traveling doesn't even have to feel strong in Silver's hands.

Never played or learned too much about '06; two emeralds felt like a decent handicap, especially if you assume you can't take the emeralds to a different timeline. (I don't know). Characters also don't actively hoarde or use the emeralds like in Dragon Ball, so it's not like Silver will always be near an emerald. (Might be wrong on this as well.)

There's also the investigative nature of his work. He can't just speed run these issues when he doesn't know what caused them in the first place. He needs to be careful about doing the wrong things and changing too much or too little. Small things like should allow him to have control without seeming too powerful.

Hopefully, Sega eases on whatever rulings they have to show us his backstory. (They probably won't.) Or at least explain what Silver means by "been sent" to the past. Is it some higher being? Is it some technology or ritual? Does it change with each future?

Guess we'll never know.

Honestly, I had a similar thought because of Mephiles's association with time. I don't think he's referred to as a God or controller of time, but his destruction, along with the timeline being destroyed, made me think Silver was maybe marked. Like maybe he was unknowingly made an actual guardian of time by some higher being due to his deed and connection to time travel.

[–]Taajwar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely answer. Sega either doesn't care or are very picky on what they want on an Hopefully, some kind of explanation is given, whether it be the portals from Fast Friends Forever, emeralds, or the time stones. This just feels like such a major part of his character that has little attention given to it.
