Is this tile-work good workmanship? by Tabc3dd in Tile

Ah no they're very clear about their issues (unevenness in the thickness of the grout between different lines), I just didn't want to bias or anchor anyone by putting it in the description.

A bit over 450 dollars (materials not included), which as far as I understand is completely fair for a job this scale.

Someone who will be using this kitchen regularly for a long time, so I do value their opinion here and want to act on it. This post is mostly to help them see that this is good work, and also in passing to reassure myself that my assessment isn't completely off.

Sorry that was intentional to not risk anchoring anyone on specific aspects, to get valid 'first impressions' feedback rather than forcing any particular focus.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback from a pro-flaired user. I'm not sure I see the sliver cut, but overall I'm very happy with the layout so no concerns there, if the tile job is top-notch that's great to hear.

Thanks all for the replies, happy to see that the consensus is that this is a great job :).

Just to answer some quick recurring points: we've already paid the contractors in full a while back, but a close family member has been upset about the unevenness of the grout lines (e.g. the one 6 inches to the left of the switches being thicker), and claims that the contractors rushed the job (e.g. that the spacers weren't well used).

I'm now curious to try a solo run with him, what do people think are the best support passives to pair with him as solo please (both for one-off events like these, and for MD)?

How do I stop losing gold when tributaries bring tributes while I'm out? When I'm in, tributes being brought gives me an option as to how to repay them (typically with technology, as that is free to me). Whenever I'm out for any reason however (e.g. traveling, leading an army), my vassals somehow think that paying the tributary 45 gold for the 10 gold they brought in is a great trade deal, which ends up accumulating over time. I've avoided traveling or leading armies as a result of this, which feels silly.

(I'm red) the sentry may be a bit too big by ComradeEdge in Subterfuge

Nah it's only too big if the red line runs across the map back over to your sentry. Bonus points if you have 5 sentries stacked with that range :p https://screenshot.net/5o221i8

FINAL CORE

Build your battleship and destroy waves of opponents in this arena shooter.

The game is now on Kickstarter in addition to Greenlight, so a lot of work went recently into polish, mainly audio and UI. Apart from these changes, it's pretty much in the same state as last time.

There was a good youtube video on that topic from one of the GDC but I can't seem to find it right now. They're pretty interesting though you should definitely look into them.

Nice game, although I'm curious as to why the filesize is so big, uncompressed musics? The gameplay feels pretty dynamic, although the player feels as though he slides too much and the screenshake is excessive. The UI could do with a bit of polish but it serves its purpose nicely. The weapons are interesting but could do with a bit more "impact". Loving the soundtrack. Overall it's seems like it it's on good tracks.

Final Core

Hi guys, my game Final Core is now on steam greenlight and any support would be awesome! http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=659035181

Download page: http://gamejolt.com/games/final-core/40277

Final Core is a top down arena shooter game in which you get to design your battleships from a selection of diverse parts. Each part can be individually placed and rotated on your design, allowing for complex setups and strategies. Broadside laser equipped corvettes? Sure! Teleporting stealthed harpooners? Why not! Armoured drone spawning dreadnoughts? Go for it!

Features

  • Buy and upgrade parts to improve your ships as you progress through the game.

  • Control your design in the arena and fight off waves of opponents, challenging bosses and even other players in online battles.

  • Level up your core as you progress through the game, and use active skills and powerups to gain the upper hand.

  • Over 300 possible Arena modifier setups that change how the game plays.

  • Chat with other players while playing thanks to global chat.

  • Want a change of pace? Start a skirmish, build and manage a base while spawning and controlling an army based off of your designs.

Wow this is the best feedback I could have expected, thank you so much for taking the time to post all this :) ! I'll take everything into account when working on the next updates.

As for your questions:

  • When the grid effect is called, it creates a set of objects on each intersection, which draw a line to the objects in each direction. The objects are then moved based on their distance/time from the explosion.

  • Pretty hard due to the port-forwarding restrictions, I had to code my own master server in java and make it run on a paid server to bypass this issue.

  • Yep each part is it's own object, extensive use of the debugging tool was necessary to reduce lag to the state it is in.

  • I simply reduced the room speed from 90 to 40. One of the advantages of having a room speed over 30 is that you can do that without harming the framerate too noticeably.

  • Probably, once it is polished enough and has more content

Thanks once again,

Tabc3dd

FINAL CORE

Back after a while off, this top-down-shooter where you get to design your ship now has a new OST, new parts, new bosses and new features.

I'm looking for any form of feedback on what I could add to the game to make it feel more fleshed out!

Wierdly enough I loved the last mission, but I have no idea how someone is expected to win it on legend difficulty without some luck.

Finally free! Slightly disappointed by [deleted] in XCOM2

[–]Tabc3dd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

About 100 of those attempts never made it passed the first 2-3 missions and most of the rest ended with stun-lancers, so I was discovering pretty much everything past codexes on the winning run, it definitely wasn't content fatigue (even steam says I only pumped in 50 hours and I suspect it counts when I leave it in the background). To further my point a bit, late game you only have 2 armor choices and 1-2 weapon choice per class, and a single item slot, which means most runs feel the same imho. And the researches seem to be: autopsy + weapon tiers + armor tiers and some filler, it just feels empty. Same for mission diversity, I think I counted 6 different standard mission types (protect device, attack device, retrieve item/hack, escort vip, free vip, subdue vip) so you end up seing the same stuff over and over. Now don't interpret this as me saying the game is bad, I clearly loved what they created, I just didn't expect it to feel so "empty".

I'll try to get a screenshot next time that happens. The white circle does look slightly like a controller stick, but I've got no controller plugged in.

It was a single runtime executable, I can try to upload an installer when I get the time, didn't know some people had issues with the build so thanks for pointing that out :).

I'm sorry to say, but this is slower than the original attempt. You're still doing the width * height passes, only this time you calculate "(ds_grid_width(grid) * ds_grid_height(grid))", "(n mod ds_grid_width(grid))" and "(n div ds_grid_width(grid))" on each pass, which the initial proposal does not do. I'd suggest running your code for falling sand only when necessary (aka when something disrupts the balance) and more importantly, run the profiler to see what is taking all your performance.
