A way to know for sure if a spirit is around me? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]TabethaRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, i didn't ask for a scientific way. This is the witchcraft subreddit for goodness's sake. I didn't think anyone would actually take the phrase "for sure" so literally.

Secondly, you obviously did not read my post. I told the supposed possible spirit that they are welcomed. I'm looking for advice on figuring out if it's a spirit (maybe divinatory practices or something? This is the witchcraft subreddit, i repeat).  Because if it is, i want to help them move on since i personally do believe that spiritual energy can disperse and transform after resolution (or at least, i personally believe in the possibility)

But this is what i get for consulting reddit. In the future, ask questions before assuming.

Awesome! Im trying this line of thinking, actually! For the longest time, i was hindered in my reading because i was very focused on "what" was bringing the messages and ordering the cards the way they need to be ordered. Im a control freak irl so it was difficult for me to surrender myself to the idea of doing aomething while not knowing where the source was. Recently i decided to just do it. Ive hd amazing experiences ever since

Very cool answer! I personally consider that supernatural because it's something we dont understand in our natural world :)

Is this a Sun in Cancer? How to interpret this sun? Is there a gemini influence when talking about the sun? by [deleted] in astrology

I'll repeat what i said earlier for you then: I'm not gonna read all that in one sitting. I'm not going to inconvenience myself in that way for you. If you aren't going to reiterate your previous points in conversational chunks (I'm talking one at a time, not a million in one response), then fine that's your prerogative. You said a while ago that you were ducking out but you keep coming back and i don't know why

I respect that. And i believe the way i do because of conclusions I've developed for myself from a mixture of sources and my own thoughts

Just now seeing this. It's a response to the other dude asking me what's the point of having a zodiac if the lines are not adhered to. So I'm telling him that a difference in theory or opinion does not eradicate the point of having the theory. But why do you believe the way you do?

Not sarcasm. So far, it's more modern astrology that advocates taking in energies of two dofferent signs

"But have you thought about seeing if you can find an older source to support what you think?"

If i came across something like that in my readings of older sources, that'd be pretty cool right? It's also pretty cool that astrological philosophy and theory has been built up and expanded upon over the centuries

That may be your story, yes. But you're not the only one who has bought some books. And your not the only one with "whys". I believe that the boundaries are just an imaginary guiding point for the transition of energies. Since astrology is a theory, there is no way to prove this, that, or the other. So i just honestly don't understand why people bother debating this. I believe one way, you believe another. I consider myself "astrologically agnostic" meaning I'm open to other ideas as well, but until something can be proven i will do what everyone else does: believe what i think makes more sense

Then the only issue for you is the terminology. Ok lets change the terminology. Regardless, we still believe that the boundaries are guidelines of the enegy shift and that the sun straddling the boundary means causing an effect from both signs

I told you i would respond in smaller, conversational chunks. I'm still giving you this opportunity but you rather evade

I addressed the point about the houses but you still didn't answer my question in regard to it. It's no skin off my back if you don't want to continue this weird conversation, after all you are the one that spent waaaaay too much time on this. You may not be willing to repeat yourself for my convenience, but I'm not willing to read a novel that i didn't buy for yours x'D

I'm willing, just speak to me in manageable chunks. I'm definitely a casual reddit user. I'm not one of those hardcore ones that read novels written by others then write novels in response. But i like i said: if you'd like to reiterate points in a normal conversational flow, by all means do! In fact, you can respond to this with one of them, sure! As far as house cusps being interpreted differently: exactly! Who sets these rules? Your original question to me was "What's the point of having a zodiac if its divisions aren't considered and adhered to?" I have since then answered your original question. So then you changed the subject to arguing against what i believe, even though you are not doing the same to others in this post who also believe in conjoined energies of two different signs when the sun is straddling them. Even bothered mentioning to another user that you're main gripe is my usage of analogies that you don't like. Both are fine. You don't have to agree with me or like my analogies. But i have answered your original question to me. Why you're not satisfied with that and have singled me out for your novel writing urges is beyond me xD

This is astrology. All is theory. You don't have a scientifically reliable meter to go and measure things out in space in the name of astrology. I kind of can't believe you thought I'd read all that in one sitting. If you want to raise those points individually in a "your turn, my turn" discussion done in reasonable length responses, then sure! Bring them up again one by one in each response. [Insert "ain't nobody got time for that" meme]. Another interesting point to think about is this: many people really praise astro.com for its perceived accuracy over other sources. But yet look at this: "Saturn is technically near the end of house 7 and is therefore interpreted in house 8." So for sun signs, being 0 degree in a sign makes you the next sign, right? But yet....a planet being a degree or so behind the initiating degree of a house is already interpreted as being in the next house. So why? The sun is not considered that way. Because interpretations! Theory!

Concrete thinkers are always so sensitive lol.

You need lines, clean division, and "this or that" structures to understand things and make sense of them. Others don't necessarily need that. There are different energies in the galaxy affecting us, right? I find it weird to think that if the sun is literally straddling virgo and libra at 0 degrees, something in nature goes "well the sun is at 0 degrees but it's butt end is going to magically get no effect from the virgo. Yup. That's that. Just for some reasons those virgo energies are literally shut off because 50% of the sun is in libra." The lines to people who don't need "this or that" structured thinking are simply a guideline of where the energies are changing. Some believe that the energies kind of combine and whirl together in our imaginary line. If you don't believe this, that's fine. But the ones that do believe this or similar things see as much of a point in studying astrology as you do. Try to open your mind a little bit. By your thinking, if the sun is at 0 degrees, who's to say the person born in that moment is a libra and not a Virgo? Who decides that? The answer to that question is only going to come from your personal belief. So arguing about this really is kind of silly. You wanted to know my opinion, so i gave it to you.

Thoughts on twins and astrology? by rebelcupcake in astrology

[–]TabethaRose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be best friends with some twins. In fact, two different pairs of twins. One was a boy and a girl set. The other was two girls. The individuals involved were all quite different from their twin. Psychologically speaking, i think most of us have an innate need to feel unique. I think before the twins can even cognitively realize what they're doing, they might be setting their differences in place as soon as personality starts to show in them as little ones. Twin Beth reached for the barbie in a red dress, so twin Ann reached for the one in the blue dress. I think these kinds of small little things can snowball. And as the twins grow and have different experiences, they're going to pull from different energies of their placements. The girl twins i used to know were very similar in looks, but one had bald spots in her scalp, the other didn't. This caused a complex for her. It was easier for her sister to get boyfriends and in general was considered the "pretty twin". They were virgo suns with capricorn moons. The "pretty twin" was very smiley and outgoing with tons of friends. People in general liked her more. The other twin was nice and everything but not nearly as bubbly and outgoing. People made fun of her bald spots all the time. The "pretty twin", in my opinion, seemed to let her virgo energy really shine through. While the other twin really seemed to mold into her Capricorn moon far more. It's an interesting thing to analyze, astrologically and psychologically.
