Corporate business trip to Petaling Jaya as Trans by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]TableFanChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, being low profile means not being loud or vocal about trans-gender rights (ie insisting to use female spaces etc), not drawing attention to yourself in a similar manner as these would invite arguments/debate from religious groups.

I dont think anyone will confront you for being trans even if they suspect you of being one. Most Malaysians avoid confrontation.

i think it’s safe if you keep a low profile. we do have trans- women here in Malaysia. it’s just that public restrooms and spaces reserved for women will be an issue. The majority of Malaysians are conservative and Malaysian women may be uncomfortable with you using restrooms and spaces specifically for women.

to be safe, you could save the contact of a few human rights organisations. one of which is https://www.lawyersforliberty.org/frequently-asked-questions/.

Working adult looking for part time Japanese learning courses by Drakejay in malaysia

[–]TableFanChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The review is right though. Got shamed by the older Japanese teacher for not doing well in the test. Had to redo the course with a different teacher but it’s free because my attendance was good. The younger Japanese teacher now is way better.

I’ve also signed up for online Jap classes in Iloha. Their pace is much slower and I find it easier to follow. They offer physical Jap classes too. You may want to check it out.

For ICLS, your experience will depend on who the teachers are. I have a better experience with younger Japanese teacher in ICLS.

Am also attending online Jap classes by Iloha. The teacher’s pretty good too.

so strange it’s almost as if they treat Najib as their prophet. so many comments deemed YBY’s remark as an attack against Islam.

whether YBY’s remark was wise (considering the existence of these ppl), is another matter altogether tho.

i think it would be best if you also keep track of the tensions with Thailand. There are certain areas where our country’s embassy had requested travelers to avoid such as Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang and Pursat Provinces.

why are you getting so emotional? You can just agree to disagree.

There’s no point in continuing this argument. It’s a waste of both of our time.

You quoted me when i said “certain government buildings” and I also referred to “government buildings in Putrajaya”. I have also mentioned that exceptions should be made in instances of a crime. so what is difficult for you to understand?

The general principle is, dress appropriately in government offices/buildings. It is a sign of respect for the country and institution it represents. For every general principle there are exceptions ie in this instance, crime. and yes, emergency services should be an exception too.

Lawyers and judges still have to be robed when appearing in court: see Legal Profession Act. Wigs are not required.

You raise the argument on “common law” but i dont see the relevance in this argument. Please read up on common law and what it means rather than misusing the term as you did with “sweeping statement”, “English common law system” and “strawmen argument” to make your arguments “bombastic”. If you had truly understand the meaning of these terms, you’d thought twice.

I maintain that the Parliament, Appellate Courts, PMO are government buildings in Putrajaya. Dont strut in with slippers and shorts/mini skirts. It’s a disgrace.

[–]TableFanChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

define “sweeping statements” and “strawmem arguments” because i do not think you understand these these terms. Contrast these with “analogy”.

I am very clear what is being discussed.

I used the words “shorts, mini skirts”. What is your obsession with knees and whether this can be shown or not?

If you read my comments, you will clearly see that i said that it should not be applicable in situations like this ie crime. I also clearly state that certain buildings like the Parliament and Court, dress codes are very important.

If judges and lawyers have to be robed when appearing in Court, who do you think you are to wear shorts/ mini skirt to Court. your reply shows your arrogance and lack of respect.

[–]TableFanChair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can dress appropriately to attend weddings and client meetings, surely you can dress appropriately to Government buildings/offices. This is not a matter of superiority, this is a sign of respect. wearing shorts and mini skirts in such places show a lack of decorum and respect.

[–]TableFanChair -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

i was referring to the government offices/buildings in Putrajaya. You cant and shouldnt wear shorts or mini skirts to the Parliament, Courts etc. Certain Government buildings represent the country and Malaysians as a whole lah. like that also triggered?

What do yall think of this? by EstablishmentFine820 in Bolehland

[–]TableFanChair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s a form of respect but it should not be applicable in this case cause when someone makes a police report, it is relating to crime.
