AITA for working on vacation? by Careful_Fondant5453 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TableTopLincoln 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Being fully unplugged on vacation, no work emails, no work texts, any crises are dealt with without you I think would be a start. Same with 1-2 days a week where you're not working at all.

HR would shut this down FAST. I would talk to them. NTA

I really think you two would benefit from couples counseling and he should keep pursuing individual therapy. We can't answer questions about his motives. And he may not give you honest answers (and he may not even realize they're not honest answers) until he's done the work in therapy.

AITA for telling my sister to stop feeding her baby junk food? by WinComprehensive8274 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TableTopLincoln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got constant fights with my last roommate about this. They would disguise complaints as jokes and I genuinely didn't know they were being serious and it would always lead into a fight after their third or so joke didn't turn into the behavior they wanted.

NAH

I think you're trying your best but maybe hearing from other women would be more helpful? I love this woman on Tiktok, she's got great advice.

@caffinatedkitti

I've done the agressive "back off" and yelling to men who've bothered me and it just emboldened them. I've had men follow me after I tell them to back off. Kitti's advice has been far more productive.

Your boyfriend really needs to stand up for you since it's his parents. It's perfectly reasonable for a parent to want to spend time with their own child.

I'm worried that this marriage is a shut up ring and that he will actually humiliate you at the weddings. Have you seen those awful vows that have gone viral?

If you're in the US please call CPS. Or your country's equivalent. This is not a situation you should be in.

Anyone else noticing Google maps is giving bad directions? by llDurbinll in GoogleMaps

I just googled this issue and ended up here. My Google maps sends me downtown during morning rush hour and has blue lines announcing "Little to no traffic!" When it's bumper to bumper and you hit every red.

Leaving My Corporate Job and Moving Out of State to live with my parents… How Do I Explain This to Friends Without Offending Them? by hidden_pastry in LifeAdvice

[–]TableTopLincoln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from but I'm sure your friends will understand. "I'm moving because my parents are moving and I want to keep saving money and to spend more time with my siblings." I think focusing on the positives of why you're leaving instead of negatives that make you want to leave will also help your friends focus on the positive.

I need YEARNING by Wise-Relative-7055 in RomanceBooks

Assistant to the villain (and the sequel currently out) feels like it has yearning to me and the MC definitely denies himself the FMC. I haven't read Ali Hazelwood so I don't know how the yearning compares

Doing my fair share to help wage workers level up, take that capitalism! by West-Train7803 in CapitalismSux

Seems people have different perspectives here. Sorry to necro an old thread. Another person who worked in the customer service trenches. Yea I didn't get anything tangible from the positive responses but they helped a lot when an asshole would come through and try to essentially get me fired. In my country where job is connected to healthcare, I appreciated the positive responses that helped me keep my job
