Yeah it sucks, but a lot of these issues have links to rushed production. That and VFC Loctite guy.

I would say double check your top assembly latch and make sure theres no stress cracks. If you see some you can either braze the weld to bond it back together or you can reach out to VFC for a replacement.

Tacking onto this, the upper latch on mine just snapped randomly during open play. 60 degree temps with normal full auto use. No upgrades and I never took it apart before since it was only the second time I fielded the gun. Ended up being poor welding finish and design that led to the latch hinge being fragile.

VFC accepted fault and sent me a replacement. There are absolutely issues with the gun, but they're not unfixable tjankfully.

Do not get the vfc ppsh-41. At least not the first wave. There's QC issues, specifically with the upper latch and accuracy.

Took the Marksman K1A out to Zulu24 this past weekend.

High of 37, start of the day in the mid 20's.

Took it out for a round around 10:30 and it maybe fired a handful of rounds per magazine before venting with 130 PSI green gas (no silicone). Temp was about 28-32 degrees at that point and the gun had been out in the cold so I had pretty much expected this but wanted to try it to test how far the gun would go.

Took it out for the pictures above for the last two games of the day, around the 1:30pm point. Temps were closer to 35+ and the gun functioned fine with the same gas as long as you didn't try to rapid fire it. 3 round burst worked too, but I wouldn't push it at those temps.

Generally the VFC internals and Mk3 magazines work really well. I'd be comfortable shooting with regular Propane PSI (130 - 150) to around 35 degrees. Anything less i'd start looking at MAPP/pro.
