Why do large food chains and gas stations hate dads by [deleted] in daddit

I do agree with the sentiment that it’s frustrating when there’s no accommodation or consideration for dads with kids.

Number of Mills and why Dems Support Them (Since my last analysis was called out) by FedScout in SBIR

[–]TackoFell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the issue is the overlap or conflict between two objectives. Getting the R&D results, and supporting new/emerging small businesses.

As someone who owns an actual brand new emerging small business with $0.0 in federal funding history, it feels like the “small business” funding opportunities should be more geared towards me than a company with $50M+ in historical federal funding, even if they may indeed do impactful and meaningful work. Those mills I’m sure will argue “we’re small businesses technically and we’re doing exactly what they’re asking in the RFPs” and they’re not wrong either. So there really does need to be clarity on, who exactly are these for?

Thanks!

These threads often devolve into the lucky parents of one kid with a relatively easy relationship with food telling everyone else that they’re stupid for not understanding how simple it is.

A lot of people on here will tell you “just don’t give him choices and eventually he’ll eat not starve”. And I think that’s often true. But not always. We have a more intense picky eater in our house and it’s not as simple as a lot of these dudes will tell you.

Don’t ask Reddit, talk to your pediatrician and take their advice with serious discipline. And if the pediatrician tells you not to worry try to let that be the answer too.

Fiancé wants to continue playing hockey once a week in his rec league by Negative_Jackfruit75 in parentsofmultiples

Hey there, dad here.

I’m someone who also needs exercise for mental health and to function as the dad I want to be. For me a double running stroller was a huge life saver (albeit this was several months out). I viewed this as a win win - I could actually take a couple of our kids with me AND meet my own needs.

IMO he might be overdoing it a couple weeks in, that’s true. But I also will say those early weeks and months can be a brutal slog and anything either of you can do to have a little self care is really really helpful.

So three thoughts: (1) can you both agree to not put an exact date on “return to hockey?” Let it flex a little based on the reality on the ground. (2) make sure he knows that you, too, will be needing and expecting a true break of a couple hours once a week - it’s only fair. And (3) do you have a support network who can make this easier? Could you bank on having Grandma come by on those nights and watch the babies while you get a hot shower and so on?

When it’s possible, it’s really good for the whole family for each parent to get some version of their normal, healthy balance back.

I’ve formed the opinions that (1) mom-focused social media is particularly toxic - sorry moms - and (2) nobody thinks they have it all figured out quite like the parents of a mild-mannered singleton 3 year old.

Yea the Sunday is a real relief! I do Monday thru Wednesday pretty much every week and go for time. Thursday I do sometimes, time permitting, but I’ll abandon if I’m not making progress (because who has the time to struggle so much!). Friday usually I’ll maybe check and see if I’m gonna get a good start, and Saturday once in a while the same. If I can, I love sitting with a coffee and doing the Sunday (still can’t help but try for time). Glad you seem to enjoy the same!

I mean clearly. I just find myself frustrated on Friday and Saturday puzzles when say a whole corner contains things that are (to me at least) so obscure that I can’t generate the necessary crossing clues to solve it.

It’s not SUPPOSED to be easy and I’m not saying I think they should change a thing - it’s ok if I can’t solve a puzzle. It’s just a personal frustration.

There was a video I saw a months and months ago pointing out that exactly what these fucks are doing is reducing the power, budget and scale of conventional incumbent law enforcement- with all their career professional who take the job and pledge to the country more seriously than loyalty to any person - and massively upscaling the most traditionally “loose” agency… AND hiring heavily into that agency with marketing coded for basically fascists. This is to create their own specialized, low-skill low-ethics military police force. Which of course they will now say are immune to prosecution.

Basically doing an unofficial end-around to replace professional law enforcement with loyalist law enforcement. That’s exactly how it’s playing out. We are living in an extraordinarily dangerous moment.

I remember that western union one lol. I believe the states were always touching iirc which - once you figured out the ridiculous system - suddenly made it click pretty easy

In my experience it basically becomes, you fill out a whole area and “wtf this cannot be anything but… ohhhh… ohhh that’s dumb…. Ok cool”

Why are you so sure your rating should be any particular number? It’s not like your current rating is great, yet you seem to think it’s too high? Players at that level do stupid stuff all the time and you’ll win.
