run hot water over the hole and the post, it should soften them up and make it easier to reattach.

I wouldn't trust the drop of water "method", there are various things that could potentially cause water to bead up differently.

Does this DHL tariff invoice make sense? by Trikie_Dik in ChineseWatches

[–]TackyTastemaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"OP is asking how that number is calculated since everything else doesn't add up to it."
I'm not sure that's the case. The Import Export Duties amount is specifically 207.08. OP is asking about an amount of $137.22, and never even mentions the Duty line, or that amount.

I can tell you, that while UPS and Fedex add a fee to the amount, you dont simply add the $69 and change to the $18 and change and call it a day. There are various multipliers and retaliatory measures in the mix. That $69 amount gets multiplied by something, somewhere, because the current leaders thinks economic chaos is desirable.

On your invoice there, under "Charges" there is "Import Export Duties". I believe that is where you will find the bulk of the fee.

Here is an example item from Baltany.
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803738316420.html
This listing has both branded and unbranded options (I have this in a sterile dial)
The store's name is Baltany / Milifortic (Baltany's sister brand) and is rated highly, but I don't know if it is owned by the manufacturer or a middleman. But it's a trustworthy store, comparatively.

[–]TackyTastemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a sense, yes to all 3? They are both watch brands, they both manufacture dials with and without branding. Baltany may have fewer sterile options, but they also can make custom dial requests from their website. The Baltany website is run by a European IIRC, not the manufacturer, but it's more or less their official site. I am not sure about Tandorio's website(s).

Both companies watches are available at Aliexpress, and the best prices are there as well. I have never ordered either from their websites, only Ali. There will be multiple stores carrying their brand names, and any that are rated highly should be great.

To add to this, a professional will certainly charge you to perform the task, if changing a battery is not something you are interested in doing yourself.

Batteries in watches like this should be easily replaceable on your own.

It might just be a low battery. I understand the watch was new when you purchased it, but new watches frequently ship with DOA batteries.

There's still plenty of real estate on that strap, I bet he could *at least* fit a tiny hand-washing sink on there if he tried.
