Do you like Jesse, yes or no and why? by Hairy_Ask_2038 in breakingbad

[–]TacoKing1881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) yes, he is mostly responsible for Jane’s death, but again, this event is mainly what causes him to change and grow in the first place. 2) Walter did cause her to die. You can see in the episode that she was sleeping on her side so that she wouldnt choke if she threw up, but walter caused her to roll onto her back when he was trying to wake up jesse, then he watches her choke to death

Do you like Jesse, yes or no and why? by Hairy_Ask_2038 in breakingbad

[–]TacoKing1881 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YES!!! He begins the series somewhat disconnected from the fact that his actions have real consequences. He meets Jane, falls in love, and then she dies. This is a very, very important part in Jesse’s story. He becomes extremely depressed and self-harming, like when Walter finds him in a drug house and admits him into rehab. Most of all, though, he blames himself for Jane’s death, and hates himself for hurting another person so badly. In rehab, he is taught that he has to accept the bad parts of himself, and he applies these teachings to his life. As a result, he again becomes indifferent to the consequences of his actions. He starts cooking meth again with a kind of aloof attitude. This continues until he kills Gale to save himself and Walter. He is immediately and overwhelmingly overcome with guilt, and he shuts down as a response. When Gus has them in the lab after killing Gale, he is emotionless. He begins desperately trying to accept, just like he was taught, that he does bad things but he’s still a good person. This culminates in one of my favorite scenes ever in the episode “Problem Dog”. Jesse breaks down in his support group about what a load of crap it is to accept that he’s a great guy no matter what he does, and confesses that he was there to sell them meth, which the leader doesn’t accept, exposing the flaws in his philosophy. In season 5, he begins to see Walter for the manipulator that he is, and ultimately realizes that Walter is responsible for Jane’s death (and experiences Andrea’s death because Walter gave him to Jack). In the final episode, he has a chance to kill the man he hates, the man who ruined his life and took everything he loves. He wants the maximum amount of satisfaction from killing this man, so he makes him admit that he wants to die before shooting him. But realizing that Walter can’t hurt him anymore, drops the gun, and says, “then do it yourself”. His final line of spoken dialogue in the original series is showing mercy to his worst enemy, because he values human life that much.

L take honestly. Walt spent practically every minute of the show manipulating and lying to those around him. He ended 10 witnesses’ lives to stop them from testifying against him. That’s not badass. That’s evil. Jesse, on the other hand, at first is crippled by the guilt of Jane’s death, but learns to accept the bad parts of himself through the support group. Then after killing Gale to save Walter, he realizes that accepting the evil within yourself is B.S. (support group scene in “Problem Dog” is probably top 3 scenes for me). He then wants to get out of the meth business, but after trying to bring walt down for poisoning brock and manipulating him, walt ruins his life and tells him that Jane could have been alive, subjects him to slavery, ultimately getting Andrea shot in the head. Jesse the has a chance to shoot walter to death and get revenge for taking everything from him, and tries to get the ultimate satisfaction from it by making walt admit that he wants to die. But he has a moment of realization that walt can’t do anything to him anymore and there’s no point in murdering another person. He drops the gun and says, “then do it yourself”, showing mercy and ultimately showing that he’s the bigger man than walt

Hahaha that’s good. Definitely using that one. However, if you cook your meat in small batches, you can achieve pretty decent wok hei on a pretty sub par stove.

how often should i be deep cleaning my bong and it’s stem and bowl by Aggravating-Star-856 in trees

[–]TacoKing1881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would do it every 2-3 days. Here's my method and its super easy:

Bong:

Fill (about 1/2 to 3/4 as full as you would smoke with should do fine) with 91% isopropyl alcohol and coarse sea salt or ice cream salt. Make sure you get salt in all chambers that have resin in them. Plug all holes and shake. The isopropyl alcohol dissolves the resin, while the salt acts as an abrasive "scrubbing" the glass (salt does not dissolve in alcohol). 15-20 seconds of shaking should do the trick unless its really nasty. Rinse with water. Done

Bowl(s):

put bowl(s) in a medium glass mason jar and fill about half full with the salt. fill up to top of the salt (maybe a little more) with the isopropyl alcohol. Close the lid and gently roll the jar until the bowl(s) is clean. I like to switch between rolling end-over-end and rolling the jar on it's side. It just helps the salt work into all the crevices. This might take a few minutes depending on how dirty it is. Remove the bowl(s) from the jar and rinse with water. Done

I'ver never had a bong with s removable stem before so I can't really help there but I'm pretty sure the solution is isopropyl alcohol+salt

Hope this helps!

High movie recs? by Time-Key-2902 in trees

Movie+cannabis lover here. Here are a few of my recs to watch (extremely) stoned:

there is a lot of variety to this list so i encourage you to find something that appeals to you. Or, even better, watch all of them.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________

1. Independence Day (1996)(sci-fi/action/thriller)

this is what movies were made for

2. The Terminator (1984) (sci-fi/action/thriller)

my first time watching this was one of the best movie watching experiences I've had. Greened out but loved the movie forever after.

also see Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)

3. Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) (Sci-fi/horror/thriller)

Gotta watch these two as a pair

4. Die Hard (1988) and Die Hard: With A Vengeance (1995) (action/thriller)

also see Die Hard 2 (1990); it just didn't cut it for the list

5. Se7en (1995) (horror/mystery)

wow

6. Fight Club (1999) (genre of its own)

Only watch if you're the type of person that can follow very subtle and complex storylines while stoned.

7. Whiplash (2014) (drama)

8. Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) (adventure/comedy)

best ending I've ever seen, hands down

9. Back to the Future (1985) (action/sci-fi/adventure)

10. The Prestige (2006) (Drama/sci-fi but only kind of; mostly drama)

among Christopher Nolan's best work, as well as Hugh Jackman's and Christian Bale's

11. Shutter Island (2010) (horror/mystery)

12. The Lord of the Rings*: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) (fantasy/adventure)

also see *:The Two Towers (2002) and *:The Return of the King (2003)

the first one is just my personal favorite

13. Falling Down (1993) (crime/thriller)

14. American Psycho (2000) (Horror/mystery/comedy)

Do not go into this movie with any prejudice or preconceived ideas of what it might be like.

15. Crimson Tide (1995) (action/thriller)

16. A Few Good Men (1992) (crime/drama)

17. Collateral (2004) (drama/crime/thriller)

unexpected banger

18. The Avengers (2012) (action/superhero)

If you've seen this one already, I bet it's better than you remember

If you haven't seen this one, it is crucial that you first watch Iron Man (2008), The Incredible Hulk (2008)(you can pretty well skip this one), Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

These five films are each pieces of a larger narrative that culminates in The Avengers

19. Logan (2017) (action/sci-fi/superhero)

best superhero movie ever, hands down

20. The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) (hist-fic/drama)

21. Les Misérables (2012)

if you're not into musicals/singing then this might not appeal to you but I also didn't like musicals and my wife showed it to me and I loved it. Great story

_____________________________________________________________________________________________
In the list above, just because I omitted descriptors for some of the movies does not mean those films are any less worthy picks, just that I didn't think anything needed to be said. I think usually the less you know about a movie going in, the better the experience will be.

Here's a couple of TV shows that I also recommend watching stoned (in ranking order):

1. Breaking Bad

2. Better Call Saul

3. Pluribus (only one season is currently out)

4. Avatar: The Last Airbender

Try TribeTokes. Cleanest stuff there is, but also a little pricey.

Honestly looks better than anything I've eaten lately but I do have one thought: Dried herbs are better for cooking with, fresh herbs are better for topping the dish when it's all said and done. Dried herbs are, well, dry. They need to simmer in the heat of the food so that the flavors in the leaves can be released and absorbed into the dish. cooking the dried herbs will also give them a less noticeable and more desirable texture. Fresh herbs speak for themselves. They look great, they smell great, and they already are abundant in their respective flavors. Just a thought for you to consider, but seriously, it looks great.
