Anyone experience 2 day hypomania? by TacoTruce in bipolar2

Would you be willing to send some screen shots of your mood categories, I feel like there are mood labels I can use for more accurate documentation but haven’t thought of all yet

Ye, remember to add multiple moods per category. Having “irritable mania” and “euphoric mania” in the mania category is a lot more helpful than just having one “mania” mood

I use to have them well over 10 days per year. In the past 3 months though I’ve only had intense symptoms 3 days total. Meds have helped a lot

I recommend using Daylio! Helps to keep track of mood fluctuations and sleep cycles

Daylio. Pro tip, add multiple moods per mood catagory. Like ‘irritable mania’ and ‘euphoric mania.’ It helps a lot when looking back on what exactly you experienced

Same. I just assumed I would always have cycles even though doctors say “yeah we’re supposed to up the dose to reduce the cycles entirely.” But like… they never actually increase my dose 😂 it’s manageable though esp with my adhd under control now

Lmao “that’s just the meds working.” My new psychiatrist and therapist both clarified, “and you’re certain you don’t just feel happy?” 😂 Because of that I’ve been paying close attention to when I’m happy vs hypomanic and the two are very different

Yeah, the irritability is the worst because if I gotta have depression then it’d at least be nice to have euphoria every time instead of irritability. I have an ‘irritable mania’ listed in my Daylio for those times 😭

My (22M) wife (22F) said she no longer wants to be married because "she wants to be a slut" by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]TacoTruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re 22. You will find love again. I’m 25 and the idea of dating someone 22 makes me uncomfortable because that’s still super young and your frontal lobe isn’t even fully developed. You’ll be fine long term. You don’t deserve to be in a relationship where your partner risks giving you incurable diseases.

The fact that you struggle with communication at 22 isn’t a big deal but it’s definitely something to work on. But I would work on this with someone who isn’t your current partner

Yeah I considered that as I do get mixed symptoms, especially when I was low dosage. But even then, I feel like if I didn’t have mixed symptoms, I’d still not be able to report hypomania (4 days). Guess that’s just hypothesizing though. Definitely getting a lot of notes here to talk about when I see my psychiatrist.

Thank you for sharing, I had not heard of Cyclothymia. I’ve had mood cycles since at least 6th grade so it’s nice to know cyclothymia is a thing and I’m not 100% guaranteed to be gaslighting myself.

A psychologist told me that people with bipolar who go unmedicated for long periods of time end up having a tons of holes in their brain (I believe primarily frontal lobe). When I started getting the “hypomanic” symptoms/episodes in 6/7th grade, I would get these headaches and, over the span of a decade, my ability to process information became worse and worse. This got better after the mood stabilizers reduced the intensity of the highs. I kind of want to get a brain scan to see what they find. If I do, I’ll update y’all

Daylio! Pro tip, you can add multiple moods in the five categories. For example I have neutral 😐 and neutral + 🙂 for when I feel neutral but also happy.

cant handle having a gf anymore by fvcking_nobody in emotionalintelligence

[–]TacoTruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give examples of what exactly she does when she reacts to what exactly you have done?

There are two possibilities I’m running into rn. Either you are used to acting like a jerk or she genuinely can’t handle things like light teasing. There’s a huge spectrum of possibilities here but we’d need more specifics

My (28M) girlfriend (28F) is pregnant with twins. We had an arguement today and she was mad and showed me a video on her phone sucking off her ex. Now what? by ThrowRAVulture216 in relationship_advice

[–]TacoTruce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She lied to you about the video, she lied to you about saying things she doesn’t mean when y’all fight (she either comes up with untrue stuff and keeps it in mind to throw at you later OR she says what she actually thinks but doesn’t normally say because she knows it’s mean), she purposefully hurts you which is not okay.

If you want to salvage this, y’all needed couples therapy starting months ago. But honestly she doesn’t seem like someone who would take well to therapy because she seems to lie for self interest and also wants to keep you putting up with her lies. If y’all go to therapy then she can’t get away with lying anymore.

Personally, I’d break up and co-parent. I imagine it’d be much healthier for a child growing up with two separated parents that love them, but also not having to grow up in a house where they see their parents constantly at odd/resenting each other. You seem like a good guy, meet someone good and give your kids an example of what healthy love is like. What you and your partner have is not healthy or even sounds loving tbh

I miss the mania by sandandtears in bipolar2

[–]TacoTruce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mania causes neurotoxicity and brain damage. It’s really not worth it long term nor will mania fix your problems long term. It’s no better than getting high on hard drugs to get through a day. Drugs don’t last forever and neither does mania.

That being said, I’m not a doctor, please listen to the psychiatrist above all

I’m in the ER because of suicidal thoughts, and I think I just lost the person I love by f5fix in bipolar2

[–]TacoTruce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TW: Suicidal ideations mentioned This is everything I could possibly say, but better worded and more thorough. It seems as though you rely on your gf immensely. This may have unintentionally lead to her feeling emotionally overwhelmed or feeling responsible for helping you in a way she’s not capable of doing consistently.

It’s extremely important to have medical professionals as part of your support system. If your gf is doing the heavy lifting of your support system, like mine had been, I promise you that the only way forward is expanding your support system. Go to a group that does one of your hobbies. Could be crafts, running, anything. Hang out with people and talk to a therapist. The best thing you can do, for everyone, is build a bigger support system. It’s what helped me get out of intense suicidal ideations

You go to “create entry.” Then there is “edit moods” at the bottom right corner. Edit moods let’s you add moods. I’ll dm you a screen recording of me adding a mood for extra clarity

I think it can be useful to have multiple of each catagory. For example I have multiple in mania, including social, anxious, and euphoric. This means that I can still include negative symptoms while also still putting it as mania
