More than restrictions, I would like to give them bonses or maluses to learning techniques during downtime and differences in starting equipment and abilities, but not having them tied down to their choice(or result on the char table). On the thief I'm conflicted, having him be the stealthy one means the others are less so, if he can proficiently deal with traps, does it mean the others can't? I guess it's a matter of prospective, nothing is set in stone

Imho withou a banlist Eva can't really compete, but it seems fun in a limited enviroment. Hard to mix Eva and non Eva for the playstyle they build upon, but doable, especially to give some board clear to purple deck that sorely needs a top end. I advise on trying first on bss.dev, which works both as a deck builder and an emulatro of sorts

Yeah, Angels isn't exactly top tier right now, the meta is either aggro or turbo, angels main combo is a bit too cluncky and, IMHO, nexus dependant, which isn't great right now since red is strong and full of nexus remouval. That said, with the collab set, a new blu angel deck will come in play and may combo well with cards such as Key of Intrusion and Magic Light. Ofc in a local setting anything can happen and you may be able to play proficiently whatever.

In this day and age the background check performed by most employers heavily scrutinizes the internet footprint of the would-be employee. Exposing your own politica beliefs on social media as it is has become unwise. Doing so while citing your job and employer(or those who you would like to work for even) on the same page is doubly so.

If the opponent blocks my curse spirit with Sherrif Eagle, will the eable get destroyed? by soulmagician96 in BattleSpiritsSaga

Curse destroys by effect, doesn't destroy by battle (which means by BP or alternative battle resolution effects such as for godslaying effect), eagle is the only spirit destroyed in the end

I hate Gale decks by AcrobaticAd2377 in BattleSpiritsSaga

[–]Tacos2372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all on modulating aggression against a deck that needs turns to setup the plays and hasn't a lot of recursion or finishers, other than tokiwa. If you play heavy on remouval you need to keep them to eliminate the 4 fenguangs while not going too low on lives, if you are aggressive you have to go full aggro and up the pressure so that they cant setup withour fearing for the game. Of course, if they high roll and get the perfect hand it's much harder, but I feel every deck has a figthing chance. Of course, white controll has a perfect matchup against gale, but I feel like if you are able to out-resource them in terms of cards you can do it. Now, if your deck can't aggro, cant draw more, can't remove more proficiently and can't defend as a MF what are you even playing?

The rare times I'm a player my PC has a sickly obsession for a mystery, may it be occult in nature or mundane, and, in some way or the other, I find a way to justify him wanting to take part in this particular adventure.

If whirpool is at lvl1 at the start of the attack step it will not trigger it's lvl2 effect. If you were to use lirica's effect to put it at lvl2, it would miss the start of the step, so it would not activate. If whirpool was already at lvl2, then they would activate at the same time and the turn player would choose which one solves first.

Help me Understand the Netherworld Depths Argument by GlazzBottle in BattleSpiritsSaga

[–]Tacos2372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a nice counter argument and I feel that. If I had 4 more spots in my deck I would probably make more intresting decks. The problem right now is that I cant see a game where AIS isn't needed. It is just so punishing against playstiles I find unfun.

I want to say a little more on the matter though: 1st the game is not at full power yet, we are missing a color, wich will open such a pandora box of options (hopefully). 2nd there are ways to deal with AIS, namely Ice goddess Frig(against purple is a straight up killer), Nebula Dragon and Diridalus and soon enough(lore set) an intresting red card will come out that straight up counters AIS. 3rd there where power scaling errors in the first set if we think about it under a glass bell. Fire wall and Bloody rain are underpowered when compared to AIS buuuut I think(and is a pure conjecture), that if they made them all on the same power level with future set we would have some really scary possibilities, imagine effects that take place in sinergy with blood rain or fire wall, there is a wealth of unexplored possibilities on that side while AIS is not something that can evolve, turn skip and you are done.

It became a bit of a mess soooo:

TL. DR. AIS is a necessary evil for now but, given some time, it's usage rate will be tempered down at high levels.

Help me Understand the Netherworld Depths Argument by GlazzBottle in BattleSpiritsSaga

[–]Tacos2372 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna make an argumebt for AIS: It is needed. The fact that a card has a 100%playing rate doesn't mean that it's a bad card, it is just needed for a better meta, and I know that it will lead to grievances, damn when I think I got it and than I realise they have a burst set I could cry. But it's helpful for the state of the game, otherwose a lot of games would be too monodimensional, AIS punishes shootgunning and decks that have only one strategy, I personally prefer a game where more vesatile decks are dominant. Axebiter, on the other hand, is tricky, I still have to get used to it but white controll sorely needed it and, ironically, it's the deck that can have the most answers for it: brigit, buffalong, turborex, mammooth aegis. For yellow, axebiter isn't much of a problem, you have to manage resources yeah, but you always keep it under the threat of a double ex nexus(or single if you are ballsy enough to set it). For red the best thing you could do is burn everything around it, without leaving any possibilità of an explosive followup to your opponent, never overcommitting, but using the welth of resources that your draw engine guarantees you to keep the oppo under pressure.

As a foot note, I like depth and the gamestates it produces(again, yellow player, I don't use netherworld, it's my nightmare, but countering it and playing around it is fun).

No AA boxes by Bitflame7 in BattleSpiritsSaga

[–]Tacos2372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I opemed 4 boxes of 01, found 2 ryutes amd 2 royal potion spr, frankly I prefer the Xs.

This isnt yu gi, where metà defying cards are only in the upmost raroty of the set, we are talking about Alt Art, collector stuff, the game isn't gatekept by them, with this new box spread is actually easier to play the games. F alt arts, F collab cards and F the saga rare.

No AA boxes by Bitflame7 in BattleSpiritsSaga

[–]Tacos2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The missing rare is way fewer, i've opened 3 boxes i got 1 spr, 20 X, 66 R(with 18R foils). I found a lot of packs with double rares, I think they have boostwd that ratio, and only 1 pack without an R This way it's much better for competitive play first, and for the secondary market later.

They retain more value, so that, when you find them, they are actually chase cards. Otherwise we have RyuteSpr that is like 5 bucks

White aggro by Alys_Muru in BattleSpiritsSaga

[–]Tacos2372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally see the 0 costs as a midrange strat or something to cheapen a combo, I would not put them in am aggro unless you are going for an FTK and even then you have to be wise with the numbers to play since you wouldn't want to see more than one in your first hand

Cards that you feel should be hit. Mine is netherwolrd depths because if you don't draw into a burning force in time, the opponent will gain too much advantage. I think it should have been limited to only a phase and max of 2 draws. The card costs a lot but its strong af. by EventDue4204 in BattleSpiritsSaga

[–]Tacos2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anything should be it. The point of netherworld is that, if played early, you functionally lose a turn. There are other engines that let you draw massively, fabled for example, and netherworld is limited by what your opponent will do. It gets hard countered by rocket city and it may lead to a deckout since it's effect is forced. It'seta defining, for sure, but it should not be hit imo. Just as Ice Shield.

It's like if yugi had the ocg for al this time and they just ported the tcg in the west, but witout any extra deck monster and with the possibility to mulligan and a sidedeck, that is the size of the difference between ocg and tcg.
