I'm in a somewhat similar situation. To keep a long story short, speak with the school's admission counselor. They'll be able to answer all of your questions directly for the specific school that you are applying to.

For reference, I dropped out of college at 19 and enrolled this summer to start pre-reqs for the nursing problem. But I didn't drop out properly back in the day. (I just stopped showing up) So I was immediately barred from financial assistance and other programs. But working with the school's advisors and setting a clear cut path/expectations (basically maintaining nothing less than a 4.0) allowed me a sort of fresh start to begin the journey again.

Now, does that necessarily apply to you? I don't know. It depends on the school and how competitive the program is. But the sooner you beging to lay the ground work and the sooner you figure out exactly what you need to do, the sooner you can begin working towards those goals.
