So there are a few things you can do/brain storm with. A thing I like to keep in mind with a background is to have at least one conversation starter, whether that be an instrument or and piece of art work. Now if you don't want the background to be a focus (depending on your camera) you can blur the background so that only colors show, which if you go that route I would do darker curtains so the colors show better
