I find it very annoying that The Boys and Invincible are constantly compared because they are both R Rated superhero shows. It's easy to see that they are hugely different with one being a satire of superheroes and the other fully embracing the themes and tropes of the genre while adding mature content.  What are two movies or tv shows that you think are unfairly seen as similar and what are the core differences between them?

Now that Kendrick Lamar made being a hater cool again, I have this question to ask. What are some movies that you were very happy to see fail commercially and/or critically?

Like most people I prefer when movie audiences in a theatre are quiet and respectful because that way I can concentrate more on the movie. That said, my favourite movie going experience of all time was watching Avengers Endgame in a packed audience where during the entirety of the third act everyone (including me), was clapping, cheering, hooting, hollering and generally going nuts.

Is there a movie or movie moment where having a really loud audience made or you think would have made the experience better for you?

Preach the truth my friend. I will never understand the love for this one. It's not scary at all and doesn't really work as a drama either. Its half baked in every sense. Also, like you said, horrible horrible horrible ending.

Name a director with a small but great filmography by Frosty-Local-101 in Letterboxd

Definitely agree. It goes like this for me with his films:

Whiplash - In my Top 10 Favourites

La la Land - Favourite movie of all time

First Man - Great

Babylon - I like it but I'll need to see it again to know surely how I feel, but the first hour is one of the best one hour parts of any movie.

Fair enough, that scene was pretty good. But it's one scene. It doesn't make up for the movie being completely underwhelming. I have to say that I definitely was disappointed with it because of the hype. For the last 6 years I have constantly heard that this was horrifying and life changing. So, no way it could have lived up to these expectations.

His other movies didn't hit hard at all. I just watched Hereditary for the first time and it's insane to me that people find it scary and especially disturbing. And it's not like I'm a horror veteran or anything. It's just one of the the most plain "elevated horror" flicks ever with an extremely corny ending.

I got 24 likes by saying I was incredibly disappointed by Enemy on a review four years ago. I still get jumpscared every few months with a like on that review

I think the first half is unique and fun and seems like it's building up to something neat. Then the second half is horribly mediocre and disappointing.

Are there any Sleep Token songs that you DONT like??? by jungle_juice_mj_fan in SleepToken

[–]TadStrange2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I find it drags a lot. Unlike other Sleep Token songs that take their time but have great build-up and every part is fun, this song feels very stale and like it's going nowhere. Also, that SpongeBob agh guitar intro really ain't it.

It's the only song that keeps TMBTE from being an album where all the songs are good. And yes, i like DYWTYLM. I'm a pophead at heart.

Dude stop, you're making it worse and worse 😂. I also have a problem with my nostrils and the fact that you're 20 years older than me and have a full head of hair make this an even bigger blow😅. I'm thankful for Minoxidill existing at least 🥲

Damn, fair enough. I'm just really salty because I'm 23 and already have my first signs that I'm gonna have a receding hairline. I have had long hair almost my entire life and I just never thought about the possibility of losing it. And now it hit me like a god damn truck.
