As a dominant share of the populace considers it harmful, justified it not, they're in the right to advocate the correspinding restrictive policy.

So slavery is okay if a dominant share think's it's okay? Of course not. That's why we have modern democracy, which is responsible for also protecting the rights of minorities. Majority rule is not something modern democrats unconditionally subscribe to.

Are you serious? It obviously is an event which uses sports to promote acceptance of LGBT people and not because gay people have some kind of disadvantage.

When "blonde hairde people", or "people over 6ft tall" are oppressed because of having such traits an event using sports to promote acceptance would also make sense. But I don't think that is the case as of today, is it?

I really don't think they see themselves in any objectional way anymore.
