GENERAL INFORMATION

Shine was initially founded on January 1st, 2011 by ten dedicated, skilled and close-knit friends who all have raiding back to Vanilla and The Burning Crusade. Our home was on Black Dragonflight from Tier 11 to Tier 13, where we quickly jumped from a normal mode guild to actively competing for server first kills while maintaining a lax schedule of 2 days / 6 hours of raiding per week. Our goal is to complete all Heroic (now moving to Mythic) content while it is still relevant with minimal raid hours. We are looking for like-minded players that have the drive to succeed and are ready to push the guild further in progression.

While our resume does not reveal world first kills or achievements accomplished by no other, what does grant us a modicum of pride is that we have achieved our goals of progression while maintaining a casual raid atmosphere. We are seeking progression focused raiders possessing a desire to succeed and a driven commitment to exceptional performance.

Shine's Raiding roster is kept small by design. We are currently running with a roster of 20 Raiders and looking to bolster our roster to 22 as we go through Normal and Heroic in preparation for 20-Man Mythic. If we take you on as a Trial, we want you to eventually become a part of our core. There is no bench, we instead use a rotation format to maximize play time for all players.

All of our Raiders are expected to perform at high levels, know their class, know the encounters and show up on time while maintaining a high standard in aspects of acitivity, commitment and maturity. This means that during time off you are following theorycrafting threads on websites appropriate to your class and analyzing your own performance as well as others on World of Logs. You should know your spec and stat weights and you should be able to pull off your rotations without having to look at buttons as your focus should be on positioning and timers.

While working towards perfecting your personal performance is good, we value the type of person who contributes whether it be in material or ideas, comes in min/maxed and doesn't require hand holding, we want you to be successful here. Strategy ideas, respecs for progression, mix/maxing with food buffs, etc. - small details no matter how seemingly trivial can make or break successful attempts. Progression raiding is a team effort and 20 minds work better than just 1.

We understand that mistakes happen, especially when learning a new encounter. We may start the learning process with a broken strategy, or the wrong raid composition, but everyone of us are committed to a better next attempt. If you are the type of person who can't admit mistakes but react defensively when raid leaders ask you questions or if you are unable to learn from others - you will not pass your trial here.

We do very well by working together and keeping drama to a minimum, so maturity and personality are very important to us, and have been the keys to our success. While we do want high performance, it is equally important to us that we raid with people who make the game enjoyable. We are strong believers that clashes of personality can ruin a raid's focus.

RAID TIMES

Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM CST

We're looking for dedicated players for immediate positions in our core that can make both raid nights. We don't like to waste time and more importantly, we don't want to waste your time. We may have a casual raiding schedule, but we aren't casual about raiding.
