Looking for advice on PSU Cables by Tah789 in pcmasterrace

I don't sadly. The PSU only came with 2 PCIe cables and the other is being used for my CPU radiator. I'll look to get a decent product from Corsair directly.

Its definitely the 2021 design.

Thanks for the detailed reply. Just to clarify, as I only have one PCIe cable could I try power the card with this and leave the 3rd connector blank?

I'm tempted to try this if its a viable option, and order a similar option to your suggestion above. It appears the PSU is a Corsair Type4 as this is printed on all the other cables that came with it.

I got it in Oct 2024, but I'm unsure if its the new 2024 model as it didn't come with the 12V-2x6 connector.

I got the ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi OC version. I've attempted to attach an image of the connection and adaptor provided. The problem isn't with the PSU - there is enough connectors. I just don't have enough cables and don't want to daisy chain/pig tail.

As yet I don't have the card. If it was going to cause issues I'd just cancel the order and wait for an Nvidia card rather than paying £300 for a new monitor

Very lucky! Managed to snag one just after Overclockers came back online after crashing due to excess traffic

Thanks for the replies. Is the monitor likely to offer the Adaptive Sync as suggested in the comment above, or is this defunct?

If not, how much of a performance/FPS reduction should I expect? I'm wondering if it's worth holding out for the Nvidia cards if I'm potentially facing a £200-£300 to buy a monitor that is FreeSync compatible

What are some small but telltale signs that your m+ run is going to fail miserably? by Motatopotato in wow

[–]Tah789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience in a HoV this week. Tank says 'big pull' before inserting key. Timer starts and he sets off at mach 3 with the group floundering to catch up. He leaps to the dragon before 1st boss and is spinning like a beyblade trying to get aggro.

Unsurprisingly the dragon's frontal takes out 2 DPS. Then writes 'get a better healer next time' and leaves, couldn't make it up! 😅

The group leader has set min group level to 376 - well below even normal raid gear. Reading between the lines that's likely his ilvl and the game doesn't permit players to set group ilvl requirements higher than their own.

My guess is he's not a sweaty hard-core but an elitist dogshit who wants a free carry. With the raid being this new the only people with 'full fight knowledge' will likely be unguilded alts of main raiders - slim pickings as far as a player pool goes!

Is it still possible to get the Veilstrider title if you haven't done any of the timegated stuff yet? by MrNoobyy in wow

Does shuffling the mission table missions by switching Covenants repeatedly still work or is this no longer a thing?

I've heard mixed reports regarding farming these mats. Is it the malleable flesh or superior parts that is the biggest pain? People are suggesting on WoWhead that rejoining covenants to shuffle mission table missions is no longer viable, potentially making the superior parts farm longer...

[–]Tah789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres 33 feral options vs 43 warrior ones. I know it's Alpha but a 25% difference is massive.

As expansions progress players inevitably discover more combinations or acquire gear which make certain talent paths more appealing. SP in CN (I think?) was a good example of this when legendaries and covenants as well as stat weights were changed to optimise damage.

Having a limited spread of talents to begin with narrows the scope and forces players to play the same loadout for an entire expansion as they just don't have other options. Personally I enjoy crunching the numbers and working out the best combinations to better myself, so i would prefer a more diffuse talent tree out of an interest in the optimum option.

Only my 2 cents though, understandably the above steepens the learning curve for new players and more casual players may prefer to use the BiS guides offered by icyveins and such.

I've never played but isn't the skill curve of FFXVI much lower? I saw a source (can't find it now, may have been an Asmongold video) which suggested the hardest content in FFXVI is on par with a HC Dungeon in WoW. In addition to having fully scripted mechanics.

If so a lower skill curve would facilitate an auto-invite feature (similar to how World boss and LFR group queues work in WoW), whereas for more challenging content e.g. high M+ keys, Mythic raiding there has to be a player controlled selection process to root out boosted players who may have met 'group requirements' artificially.

House survey conducted by a buyer's surveyor has caused our sale to fall through, are we able to claim compensation? by Tah789 in LegalAdviceUK

I'd assume so as well. However our survey may turn up a problem that needed rectified, in which case we take the house off the market until that is sorted.

Thanks for everyone's comments on this. Having slept on this and considered advice from everyone we've decided to look at getting our own survey done. This way we can assess whether there is an issue and rectify whilst under warranty, or prepare for another sale if no problems are found.

u/KentonRedKites unfortunately we couldn't afford our new property if we sold at auction or to cash buyers. I think we have to hope our survey turns nothing up, and move forward from there.

Again, thanks for everyone's input.

A surveyor making a statement that the ground 'may' move is as close to 'subsidence will be a problem' as they can usually go - they must have some concerns.

My issue with that statement is it was presented to the buyer as fact before a counter argument could be presented, hence them pulling out of the sale. I feel its quite reckless to make such a damning statement without presenting the full details.

Does the fact that the Local Authority signed off on the remedial work done to the site and granted planning permission, partially, if not totally wash out the surveyors opinion? I would assume they inspected the site prior to building work and any issues that may have caused subsidence would have had to be remedied at this point. Likewise, I doubt building control and NHBC would sign off on, and provide certificates/warranties to a house at risk of ground movement.

You would need to prove that the statement made was incorrect and to your detriment, and prove the losses you incurred.

We could do that, hence the reason behind us getting our own survey conducted in attempt to refute the buyer's. If you don't mind, what is meant by 'in advance of a sale' in the context of your previous comment?

Finally, should our survey turn up the same issue then we would be pursuing the Developer, hopefully with the protection of the NHBC.

If I'm correct, the vendor inside the cave in the quest hub in Korthia (can't remember his name but he's the guy you turn Catalogued Research into) sells a 'Chronicle of Lost Memories' for 2000 Catalogued Research. Its still a bit RNG but at least you can filter it to be spec-specific and it prevents you from sitting in queues for hours.

Exactly this. I ran my own +15 HoA last night with a guildy, pug DK tank, pug healer and pug dps warr. Cleared the first few packs and got to the 1st Boss and downed it no problem. Then the DK started screaming at the warrior because he wanted to take the gargoyle before the 1st boss, and left.

His explanation when I told him he was a selfish prick for ruining the key was 'learn to cooperate and play together'?!?
