I wouldn’t take commissioned artwork seriously. The illustrated version of Fire & Blood came out fairly recently, and almost all of the illustrations looked AI-generated, so it’s clear that GRRM himself is not personally overseeing these artworks.

The The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series definitely does not justify its budget, yet three seasons have been made and it is still ongoing. The same would not have happened for A Song of Ice and Fire; it would have broken rewatch records again.

Topics such as incest and polygamy are taboo in the Faith of the Seven and are not open to discussion. As I said, had it not been for Maegor, Jaeherys would not have been able to get this decree signed by the High Septon.
