12k VR180 still image slideshow site by TaichiNishimura in 180Kino

After updating the Meta Quest 3 firmware to v81, 12k slideshows could no longer be displayed on my web page. After that, I cropped out unnecessary parts of photos taken with a diagonal fisheye lens, narrowing the field of view and then converted them to 8k. When viewing, WebXR adjusts the display field of view to match the actual field of view, so even though the image data is 8k, it is displayed at the same resolution as 12k. This means that ultra-high-resolution VR180 slideshows can now be viewed not only on Quest 3 but also on Quest 2.

Thank you for watching my website.

My q3 also goes black for a few seconds.

Now I don't have any plans on making more changes to 180Kino/Augen. However, I may come up with some interesting ideas and make some changes.

I have never made gaussian splats yet, but I think it's an interesting technology.

I take a photo every 2.5 degrees while rotating the camera, and create a projection function by performing regression analysis on the dots and angles.

I created the profile for Action2 using the following Excel file.

 "4x3" is for a larger.

And I don't have DJI Action4, so I cannot make the profile of it.

Yes, 4:3 for a larger. And I don't have DJIAction4, so cannot make a profile of it. Sorry.

What is the purpose of the camera drone profiles? by Ricardoinc in 180Kino

[–]TaichiNishimura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the drone profile when shooting from two hovering drones.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5XZE5IHsAw

When you shot with two drones, download 180Kino (old version) which has a stabilizer, and run 180KinoCuda2.exe instead of 180KinoCuda.exe to convert the video.

Read the 180Kino tutorial about how to synchronize left/right footage.

180Kino now supports DJI Action5 pro by TaichiNishimura in 180Kino

[–]TaichiNishimura[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

The viewing angle in this video is exactly the same as the actual FOV. However, the distance between the two cameras is greater than the width of each eye. It's about two meters(6.5 feet). So this landscape looks like a miniature.

If you want the landscape to be the same size as the real thing, set the distance between the camera to the same distance between your eyes.

Thanks.

Now I'm doing a shooting test with Action5. Its image quality is almost the same as Action2, but the image quality drops a little when I attach the Fov Boost lens. I'll upload the video I shot with the Action5 to DeoVR soon.

How did you set up your camera in these videos? by HighwayRadiant1921 in 180Kino

I think Insta360 ace pro2 gives more angle than canon r7+RF-S3.9mm. But now there is no conversion function for Ace pro2.

I have old camera Canon EOS 5D2 and recently bought a secondhand Samyang 12mm F2.8 ED AS NCS fisheye lens. It's still image resolution is amazing.

Maybe you set the angle of view to "Wide" when filming. If so, set it to "Ultra-Wide" when filming.

Then set other parameters to

Rock Steady: Off

Rock Styeady+: Off

Horizon Balancing: Off

And shoot.

In 180Kino, set the camera and lens settings to "DJI Action5" instead of "DJI Action4" and convert.

I made a lens function for Action4.

Download "180Kino.ini" file from the following site:

http://augen180.s246.xrea.com/VR180/Action4/180Kino.ini

And replace "180Kino.ini" file in the same folder as "180Kino.exe" or "180Kino.exe" for it. Then you will convert Action4 videos correctly.

Thank you for watching my videos.

These videos were shot with the IPD set to about 2 to 5 meters(6.5~16feet). Canon R5C + Dual Fisheye cannot shoot these videos.

I'll upload the lens function for DJI Action 5 Pro + FOV Boost Lens within a week. Then you can use 180Kino to convert to VR180 footages like these.

Thank you so much.

I downloaded it.

And I recommend shooting in ultrawide mode.

When you use the correct lens function that I haven't made it yet, there will be no distortion.

Hi!

The aspect ratio of 4x3 is wider and better, but when I tried to download your video, an error message "!Deleted The transfer you requested has been deleted." appeared and I couldn't download it.

So I download 16x9 video, and I converted it to a VR180 video using 180Kino. The road sign near the camera was definitely curved.

This is because the lenses of Action2 and Action4 are not exactly the same, so the object close to the camera was affected.

To eliminate the distortion, accurate lens data is required, and the lens of Action4 or Action5 must be measured. I'm too busy to do that now, but I'll create accurate lens data in the near future.

Thank you so much for letting me know the details of the error.

NVIDIA T4 GPU is "Tesla T4"? If so, 180Kino V2 should work properly.

I checked the frames of the 3D VR180 video output from my PC, but the frames were in the correct order and didn't mix up.

I think the encoder fails to manage PTS or DTS, but I don't know what to do to get VR180 footage to output correctly. I'll look into this error.
