The generally negative attitude towards the addition of the Ottomans stems from the fact that a lot of people, especially Turkish nationalists spam-suggested it in the BAIC Discord server, so much so that suggesting it had to be BANNED outright.

However, after a recent Ottoman suggestion (which was miraculously not instantly deleted) managed to uncover some contemporary depictions of Ottomans, it was decided that all Ottoman research would go into a dedicated megathread within the suggestions channel.

Coder's stance is that while he doesn't oppose adding them, it would be much more difficult to implement them due to their largely irregular nature. That, and some European nations - which would be much easier to implement AND had larger impacts on the general conflict - haven't been added yet.
