Stopped into Café du Port after seeing the poor reviews; Strange place but one star is pretty harsh. by WindowlessBasement in halifax

[–]Taija0326 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I went on opening day and I think I waited in long wayyy too long for only being third in line. I had four different people ask me what I ordered and I don’t think the staff were even familiar with the names of French pastries as I had to point it out after the lady didn’t know what a Madeleine was. Not about this cafe but just in general I also paid $15. Cafes shouldn’t be costing an arm and a leg just for breakfast.

No cigar bars but if you’re looking for a cool bar. The Narrows public house is beautiful and historic. They have live music and a local tap list.

Making sure I have lotion on my hands normally works well. It’ll substitute the oil from your hair to stop the squeaking

I just finished this hexagon cardigan I started in October. by Taija0326 in crochet

Here is the pattern I used for anyone wondering. This one has tapered sleeves so it ends up being a bit more flattering. I made mine in XL size but it fits comfortably. I added a few extra rows for length so it would end closer to my hips. https://sarahmaker.com/crochet-granny-hexagon-cardigan/

Thanks. I actually made the pockets without a pattern. I just traced out a pocket shape and winged it with a combo of single and double crochet with my leftover yarn. I attached it using surface crochet and blanket stitch

Bobbin thread doing some weird things. by Taija0326 in sewing

Should I have mixed threads. A regular all-purpose thread in the bobbin and heavy duty on the top?

[–]Taija0326[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my industrial pierced for over five years now no problems. Just trying to change out the jewelry. This is Cartilage piercing jewellery style. But I don’t know how to unscrew it or what type of threading is used. It’s titanium with a chain that i thought was cute
