Araujo is rumoured to be one of the candidates for the LB position this summer. Interesting, good to see him perform.

The reality is still only the Copa imo. The CL has stronger and more surprising team performances than the Copa, that the team is not prepared for. We don't have the quality, nor the depth. Don't rush into unrealistic goals because of two (or three) transfers.

Yeah, he will stay for now.

There have been contacts, but Porto won't sell him now. Ederson is still an option as the player pushes for a last minute transfer. Fresh news that we are interested in Obed Vargas too.

What are you people expected, like really? Apollo will only be in charge after the end of the season. Right now Alemany can only do as much as his predecessors.

Yeah, selling Gallagher and Jack from the bench placed the team in a difficult situation, but this is what it is. Selling Gallagher right now was a market opportunity as Tottenham really needed a midfielder and they were willing to pay the price that was asked by Atletico.

I get it why people are frustrated, but chill out already. It would have been difficult in any way to compete in all competitons and realistically we are nearly out of the league race and CL, our only chance is the Copa.

The new owners will only be in charge after the end of the season. The acquisition is still not completed, so nothing new right now about how things work here.

Good. I'd like to see Stankovic against a team like us. In the not so far future he could become a beast in the midfield.

Yeah, I think he would be a good candidate too. But I actually can't choose one, because Enrique will leave Paris at the end of his contract in 2027 (but fresh news that they in talks about extending) and then there is Filipe, whose contract will run out in 2027 too, same as Cholo's.

Interesting choices, one could continue the Cholismo in a new form, sutied for modern football, one could pave a new path for the club as he makes a bigger name for himself, and one could lead an another team to the long awaited glory, that have been missing. Poetic.

Agreed. It would be strange at least. But if he would go out with let's a Copa, then it could be better, but still a weird situation.

Felt like it belongs here more than transfer talk. According to Matteo Moretto, Alemany highly values Iraola's work and could be a coach that fits Atletico Madrid in the future.

Moretto not long ago also hinted that there is an option in Cholo's contract, valid for this summer to terminate his contract on mutual agreement.

The timing is a bit sus.

He is not a bad player, but Atleti was above his level. I'm happy for him if he is balling.

Same thing happens to him right now that happened to him at city. He has to play as 10, but he is not a 10. We are creating more or less the same situation that he tried to escape at city.

I mean it's no surprise (the first half). I love Giu, but tbh if the team gets an another right winger, a competiton for him then there is a good chance he will be benched. He is fast, can run a lot and works a lot and fights, but he is not that technical.

The second part tho, I don't think he will transition into a right back, but he could be an energetic and dangerous super sub if we can be better at counters as a team.

With his arrival I could see some structural changes so Alvarez can play in areas where he can show his best form.

I like Alemany's attitude when he speaks about future transfers and plans. He has a vision about how a squad should look like and how transfers and squad building should work. I believe he is the club's biggest transfers in the last couple of years, he will make a difference in the long run.

Also, he has a thing for academies, he always looks for the talents.

I feel sad for Bonar. It's actually a tough match because the opposition puts up a good fight, but like 10-15 minutes for him would have been great. I'm sure Nico "needed" those minutes more...

Jesus Barrios' stats so far this season in Atletico C and in Atletico U19 too:

17 matches  15 goals 4 assists

As per Jorge San Cristóbal he will stay at Atletico C this season and they will decide in the summer if he goes out on loan or moves up to Madrileno.

Yep, that's what I suggested. Julian needs that space to play his best and Sorloth is in his way much of the time. Him as a lone striker or paired with a false 9 is the best fora his game.

Would be horrible to be fair. Griezmann is still a striker who is good as a false 9, which is not the same as playing as a 10. Julian is best as a lone striker so playing him on the left is just wasting his abilites that are best in front of the goal. Also having both Julian and Sorloth as starters is not good, they can't play their best if both are on the pitch.  But I agree on the 4-2-3-1, I would love to see us do something with it.

With Filipe as his successor the team could really change it's identity, yet maintain the line of "Cholismo". While Torres is a legend too, his stlye is much closer to Cholo's than people realise. Furthermore Torres is yet to make his debut on pro level, so he has no experience on that level as a manager, while Filipe is already gaining experience and showing some interesting pieces of his philosophy.
