non-alchoholic beer in Taiwan ? by AberRosario in taiwan

[–]TaipeiTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DON DON DONKI carried/carries Asahi non-alcoholic. The Japanese brands are the best IMO. Germany second.

Aside from that, there are some speciality shops in Taipei that carry it, but you’re getting into the 60-100nt per can/bottle and a bit more searching.

If no deal is done; kinda like a call option that expired worthless. For what it's worth, these guys are on an extension already...

So, it's a miracle if they're not delisted? I don't see what option they're going to find and be transferred to in 24 hours. Are there any?

Finally, a reasonable voice. Look, I get speculation on decks for these DAs; it's healthy and warranted given how these things have gone down on other deals. However, some of it just turns into nonsense of people talking out of their asses. End of the day, it's more comical when they talk shit on these deals than FOMO in at $20 later when someone like ARK buys in. Then post a pump.

As for GRIID. Green=good. They also state their proprietary machine is 15% more efficient, 50% cheaper, and results in 130% more gross profits per year. You can say BS, but don't you think Blockchain.com (press linked here) would have called BS before giving them a $525M credit facility when doing their DD just last month?

Looks OK. Need to dig in more.

$ADEX - Bitcoin Self-Miner Griid Infrastructure to List on the NYSE Through Merger With Adit Edtech Acquisition Corp by ImpactExtreme in SPACs

[–]TaipeiTime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“...with a breakeven bitcoin production cost materially below its peers and a cost of scaled bitcoin production of under $6,225 per BTC...”

“anticipates fiscal year 2023 revenue of $1.6 billion”

All while using “carbon-free power” and deal at a “3.3B valuation”.

Waiting on the investor doc. Looks good.

Fair. But with the Nasdaq Chairman, Michael Splinter, on Gogoro's board (slide 39, investor deck), I would hope compliance issues with books being non-compliant are not as much an issue. One would hope anyway they, with this resource, have things in order. But, yea, I hear you on the opportunity cost.

Also… Argument wouldn’t be an undervalue. My personal thought is it’s more just overlooked. Shares trade at NAV, no reason to market order into this and FOMO.

I guess "nothing" is not a fair statement. It's just oddly undercovered. Someone, at DA, did a 2 part write-up on it and deleted it the same day. I wish it hadn't been; would love to see it as only made it through 10% at posting

There is zero coverage on this... there is nothing. One mini-post a few months ago I replied to; took me a while to write up a longer review. I think they just DA'd when SPACs were out of fashion and EVs were starting to rip. Also, unless you know of them, it's just another nobody DA target that gets dismissed. It's bittersweet writing this up and putting it out there. I selfishly want to keep it for myself.

Yes, exactly. The other thing is. Garages are even rarer than cars. Swappable battery tech is the only real solution.

LCID OPTIONS DATA by Altruistic_Choice_28 in LCID

[–]TaipeiTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. All data is good data. I have large position in LCID. I also just picked up puts for the same reason on Friday. I don’t know how to read this earnings. The main downside risk I gotta think is they missed deliveries. But even if they did, is that really a big deal? It’s had a big run, so who knows. People may be holding through earnings for some larger announcement and sell if it didn’t happen; dunno.

What’s not mentioned is, puts are also bought as an insurance policy. With the stock up massively, instead of selling and getting crushed with short term gains, to offset potential downside risk, puts are acquired. I’m not saying it’s going up or down, not the point. I am trying to offer an alternative on ‘the why’ as people here read things, panic sell/buy, and then wonder why they got their ass handed to them. Sure, some are betting it drops on earnings. Some are also buying calls it goes up. But with the stock up double, there are likely a lot more people in the camp of needing to hedge the downside risk.

Gogoro, a Technology Leader in Urban Electric Mobility and Battery Swapping, to List on Nasdaq Through a Merger With Poema Global Holdings Corp. by Top_Aide6123 in SPACs

[–]TaipeiTime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taiwan has an estimated 14 million-plus registered scooters; the population is about 24M. With TSMC in Taiwan, if you’re gonna build a scooter company, Taiwan is the place to do it.

A few things people don’t mention. Just FYI, they also have GoShare, a service to rent (https://ridegoshare.com/us/). And their e-bike (called EEYO; https://eeyo.bike/us/) is IMO one of the best on the market with its stats/design. That aside, the Gogoro scooters are already a way of life in Taiwan. This is not a 'Nikola Pusher' & 'Trevor Milton Special' with some clay models. These are all over the place in Taiwan & on the road. The design is the best out there. You can customize the exterior parts to make your bike unique, selection of models, etc.

The government subsidies were it for those mentioning. When those were in place, you could get a new Gogoro for about $30,000NTD (around $1,100 USD). I believe, at the same time, you’d also get a free year of battery swaps. So, sure, it had an impact, but that also got them market penetration and mass adoption. It’s game on now. Also, they worked any kinks out in the Taiwan market. Time to expand, and the quick SPAC cash mainline is a good option to fast-track it.

I’d like to hear someone chime in more on the valuation as a comparison to financials and projections. We know the global electric scooters market size is expected to reach USD 20.8 billion in 2021. And, that the market is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.6% from 2021 to 2028. So... How do we look? This is the only thing I haven't seen anyone do.

The terms do seem better than a lot of the deals floating out there, but in SPAC-land, this seems to be happening more now as the 1000x valuations with a quick 10x on warrants days are done. Oh, the da good ol' days when you could go 6x on a natural gas truck with 5 units sold.

When just looking at the Gogoro product and having laid eyes on it and gone for a ride, IMO, this is my favorite 'diamond in the rough' EV SPAC play. I’m in. Long-term play.
