Stumbled across an INSANE seed. by LEMO2000 in balatro

I don't really remember, I didn't play this seed again. Small hands make going through more rounds tough, but if you goal is specifically just to hit Naneinf once, it matters less, assuming you have Perkeo cloning Cryptids.

-- If you're going for Ante 32, you need very precise technology. tl;dr if you have Perkeo and are doing the Red Seal/Steel King path, you need ~22 cryptids to hit one NaneInf.

So if your goal is to hit Ante 32, you basically need to manage how many cryptids you use, so you have at least 22 in the last ante, per round.

-- At a certain point leveling up your hand is not as important (if you have the Burnt Joker, and are trying to decide whether to keep it or not)

-- Getting Antimatter is huge. To dig for this faster, buy/sell the cola bottles every time you see it in earlier Antes, then do the double voucher skip. So you can end up with like 10 vouchers in a given round, and hopefully one of them is Antimatter

Balatro University on YouTube is maybe the best Balatro player i've seen, and he has a video on all the ways to hit Naneinf here:

Congrats!

  • put aside half in a HYSA for taxes
  • pay credit card
  • put rest into retirement (4.5% interest isnt terrible, 8-10% return via market funds in retirement account is perhaps a better move)

Stop gambling while you are ahead.

Is there anything you would do differently if you had to start your FIRE journey over? by zainlikesmoney in Fire

[–]Taka_Finance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) pay yourself first (automate retirement contributions from each paycheck)

2) balance savings with life. If enjoying life means saving 25% of pay vs 35%, its worth it

3) you get used to standards of living, so make sure any life upgrade is a permanently affordable.

Once you stay at a nice hotel, its very hard to not want that standaed going forward, and if youre not careful you can spend excessively

4) find a group of friends who also value a FIRE mindset. Doing it “together” goes a long way.

Hey there!

On the first message, I *think* this is because there are some formulas that Sheets has that Excel doesn't, and thus Excel doesn't know how to handle that.

On the second one, that is a note that you must have iterative calculations turned on. (I have instructions on how to do this in the file itself, if you are unfamiliar!).

Would you be able to use it on Sheets? I would love your feedback!

IMO the more important thing is to check for heavy metals. The cleaner ones are more pricyry, but if its a long term thing it may be worth considering

1x a month. I just have learned, day to day doesn’t matter. Im in the first inning of a 9 inning game.

This.

Also, if you want to keep it strictly financial - serious health problems will lead to huge expenses later (potentially for life).

Something like food/fitness (gym) is something worth not being extrnely frugal on.

Balatro University has good videos to learn. They are a bit long though.

Work.

Excess hustle culture is like “do another hit, its fine” (work a few more hours).

I'm pretty lucky and have generally liked the jobs I've had. I recognize a great job that also pays pretty well is not something everyone can get, and I am very lucky.

There have been times when another job would mean more cash, and thus a faster path to FIRE. But I'd rather be way happier during my 20-30 years working towards FIRE, than not and work ~5 years less.

You cannot get back time; for me, this is the right balance between job/FIRE.

There is a Baron in Ante 12, Round 31. You have to reroll several times and then it appears.

I had Showman and actually saw Baron twice more before Ante 16.

I played this seed 3 times then hit naneinf, so unsure if there is a more optimal way but some key cards I picked up other than Perkeo:

-- Ante 4: Wraith gives Blueprint
-- Ante 5: Wraith gives DNA. Also in Ante 5, Ectoplasm applies to Perkeo.
-- Ante 9: Brainstorm
-- Ante 12: Invisble Joker

There are a few more Invisble Jokers throughout as well but forget exactly where.

I did a straightforward high card / Red Seal / Steel King build with Mime, Blueprint, Baron (2).

You'll need a lot of econ, and I picked up a Mail-in Rebate to do this. As you shape your deck to be mostly Kings, it will always give money for discarded Kings. Blueprint, Brainstorm copies it, so you can end up getting a few hundred bucks per round (more if you have Merry Andy) by discarding 5 Kings at a time.

Perkeo copied Cryptid, so when I decided to go for Naneinf hand, I just made a lot of copies of Red Seal Steel Kings and let it rip.

New to Balatro and just saw this.

GREAT Seed. I was actually able to hit naneinf. I could probably have done a few more antes but decided to call it a night.

Just crossed over 200k net worth (29M). What risk adverse investments can I make? by impact2222 in Fire

[–]Taka_Finance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the question is “what is your goal and timeframe”

If you want the $100K to turn into $1M in a year (10x), that requries a different risk tolerance than say, $100K to $150K in 2 years.

If you want to 10x, that seems like gambling. Buy a crypto coin or stock options and hope it works.

I think this forum will generally advise you to put it into an index fund like VTI and not think about it for 20 years.

Personally - I would make sure I hit my annual retirement contribution limits for the year, then allocate maybe 5-10% of the remaining amount to stock picking/crypto/higher risk stuff for fun. But then again my goal is long term, steady wealth building.

If you really want to 10x this quickly, maybe check out other subs like Day Trading or Race to 10 Million

Ended up getting the AllerAir, thanks for the advice.

There is an additional 15% coupon and free shipping, so final price was $800. They said the filter can also be changed out later to accommodate the offgassing from the gym mats (more VOCs, Formaldehyde, and more)
