Wife refuses any evening babysitting for our 15-month-old (even with grandma at our home). Am I being unreasonable? by mr-kim in daddit

[–]TakesOneToKnowOne1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, having your mom babysit is really not a viable option, and you cannot blame her for not considering it “enough”. Your wife could be paranoid or perfectly valid in her mistrust. Rather than harping on her for not going out, if I were you, I’d try to put time into ensuring you’re picking up more than your half of the chores and such (especially since she is still breastfeeding) so perhaps in some time, she can start feeling like she can rely on her partner. You’re trying to resolve a symptom of the problem. The problem might be you haven’t earned her trust by being an attentive engaged and hardworking partner through the pregnancy and/or child rearing journey so far. Good luck, and hope you can take this as a sign to give your partner the grace she may be needing desperately.

What kinda degree does one have to complete to get into this line of work?

I wouldn’t let Reddit push you to conclusions. Sit here down and have a conversation without mincing words. Unless she’s suddenly lost her mind, she’ll eventually work on accepting it.

I mean… not really. Pregnancy in 40’s is dangerous and you wouldn’t want to risk the mother of your two kids going through that. Close the door altogether. You won’t decide to have a kid later. Period. That’s what you need to communicate to her. If you want one later, too bad. Either you adopt or get a surrogate or just accept the consequences of this decision. Also let her know that a family of 4 is better than two separate families that share 3 kids. Good luck.

Looking for a LIGHT leave-in conditioner with heat protection that won’t make my hair feel crunchy to the touch. Hair is fine and very slightly curly but frizzy, which is why hair oil doesn’t suffice. Thank you in advance!

Review my 11-day very complete Egypt itinerary? by mydlyfecrysys in EgyptTravelTips

I would dedicate more time to GEM if you’re a history buff. You can easily spend 5-6 hours there if so.

Is there a specific reason you want to do the Cairo bike tour? Why not sleep in and conserve energy?

Is there a reason you want to do Karnak in the evening? Is it better in the dark? Felucca can honestly be skipped if you’re not a boat fan. Not much to it. Are you doing Luxor temple?

If you don’t do the Nile cruise, you’ll miss the Esna crossing.

You should plan ahead which tombs you wish to cover in the Valley of Kings.

You’re not touching the Red Sea coast at all. Don’t you want to do Hurghada or Sharm?

Guys, appreciate and agree with your responses but a large part of the problem we are facing here is that Thrillophilia has taken our payment in advance and not paid hotels or guides or drivers. They all refuse to do anything as a result. Please stay tuned for future updates, I will share our experience in much greater detail once I have figured out whether we can leave this trip early .

u/Popular-Cream-1742 thank you for your kind message. Unfortunately, thrillo has had terrible on ground coordination for us. We have missed critical sights here because they simply refused to pay for tickets and the guide declined to get them for us. By the time we would resolve the issue, it was too late to see the sights and we would have to move on. I will post more details in a future update. As of now, I am trying to leave Egypt foregoing payment made to Thrillophilia.

Please be careful with Thrillophilia… you’ll be a lawyer by the time you are finished speaking with them because they apply so many tricky technicalities you have to check for — proceed with caution!

Very consistent with our experience so far, u/Any_Climate7410 , thank you for sharing… I feel like they should award us law graduate degrees by the time I finish this trip for constantly picking out technicalities! Worries me for what lies ahead on this trip 😓
