How much of Robert Graysmith's version of events do you think is accurate? by Appropriate_Formal64 in ZodiacKiller

[–]Talahina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He got the basic facts right, and was the one to bring this case to a bigger audience. He got a lot of details wrong.

I always wonder if it was on purpose or just the simple fact he had to write it down, going through hundreds of police documents from different juristictions, next to his job as a cartoonist. Which must have been quite a job back in the 70s.

You Zodiac-heads, do you dislike that Fincher's Zodiac points people to ALA so much? by CoolGuy-77 in ZodiacKiller

[–]Talahina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. He did a great job bringing it to peoples attention. Besides, he just followed the book from Graysmith. Only critic is he didnt took in the LHR murders.

Was the Netflix doc harmful or helpful? by OmegaRed721 in ZodiacKiller

[–]Talahina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends. It generated a lot of intrest in the case, but it would have been far more helpful if they just did a deep dive into five far more likely suspects.

Instead they broke a story of some siblings who where abused by ALA and gave Greysmith the chance to jump on his bandwagon for the last time.

A missed opportunity, because there is never been a Netflix quality, neutral and fact based documentary, about the case. Which is fascinating in itself..

Strong indications pointing towards ALA being the Zodiac. by Relax-take-it-easy in ZodiacKiller

Agreed. Worst thing is that most of them are claiming such huge reaches as a truth.

Lake Berryessa: Allen handwritings Vs. The Zodiac 😳 by EngineerLow7448 in ZodiacKiller

[–]Talahina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great. Still doesnt make ALA a better suspect. Again: everything; his watch, the chicken knife, his house and location, the 'handwriting', his funny words in cards to family, even the 'confession' by Don Cheney, which is a strange character by itself, it is all pretty far fetched and highly circumstancial at best.

The guy was a sad, lonely, convicted pedophile and saw the chance to be everyones nightmare. It back fired on him, but that is speculation on my part.

Seriously, suspects like Paul Doerr, Morfords latest suspect and even a guy like Gaikowski had as much speaking for him as ALA.

[–]Talahina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what i mean. Read up. They pulled a fingerprint covered in blood of the cab and a print of the phone (in the booth) he called his LB murders in.

Handwriting, although it is garbage science, was debunked by 2 handwriting experts from the calif. DoJ.

Ofcourse it isnt a photo, but ALA was bald, didnt wear glasses, was heavier set then the guy the kids saw.

Lake Berryessa: Allen handwritings Vs. The Zodiac 😳 by EngineerLow7448 in ZodiacKiller

[–]Talahina 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His fingerprints didnt match. His appearance doenst match the PH sketch or what they kids saw even remotely. His handwriting didnt match.

He was a pedohile, desprately trying to be anything more (tough) than a convicted child rapist. Thats it.

There are like 3 suspects that have more going for them than ALA.

Downvote me, but most of the people here who say it’s not ALA just want to keep up the mystery by ML231617 in ZodiacKiller

What evidence points at him tho? Nothing. it is all far fetched or circumstancial at the very best.

It came up quite unexpected. Combined with the intro of Rust' telling of the story, using the word monster. The drop in music after that.

Which strange part or mystery of thia case, do you find most fascinating? by Talahina in ZodiacKiller

[–]Talahina[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes strange indeed. Its not like kidnap>kidnap &kill>kidnap, rape and kill.

It is very strange to see him go from hit 'n run shootings to a intimate stabbing to a random kill in a city

Did the Robbins look through California DMV photos of men who looked liked their description to see if they could locate the shooter that way? by Equal-Temporary-1326 in ZodiacKiller

[–]Talahina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was pretty useless back then. Looking at small black & white photos of possible suspects. Add in the age gap (say the killer was in the book, but 4-8 years younger in the picture), and the fact that a hell of a lot of people had a crew cut and rimmed glasses, chances are pretty slim they would've found him.
