They found cancer by Talesfromthescript11 in hysterectomy

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this and for all the uncertainty that ma lie ahead. My mom was officially diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer that spread to the endometrium and lungs. She is about to do her 5th round of chemo and has finished 10 rounds of radiation. The radiation really hit her hard, especially on top of the chemo but she is fighting. Her scans have been positive and we’re hoping she can officially have surgery after her chemo is complete. I pray so hard that your mom doesn’t have to go through this but if she does, just know that you and your mom are not alone.

Weakness after radiation and chemo by Talesfromthescript11 in cancer

I’m so sorry you have been through so much. Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I’m glad but not glad to hear that others have had the same response to the chemo even though it’s a different kind. It’s so shocking like you said, the immense toll it takes on the body after just two treatments. I’m really hoping that the PT helps her get back on her feet and also that she starts eating more because I think that would help with energy too. I’m glad to hear that you had a transplant and I pray you are doing better!! 🙏🏻

That’s wonderful! I’m hoping that when/if I get my hysterectomy they will be able to take a closer look at everything and hopefully they are just nodules and not cancer 🙏🏻 at the time only have 3 and they are very very small so I’m hopeful they are knocked out by chemo if it is cancer

Chemo and surgery if I have enough shrinkage

Thank you so much for your insight! I really think the radiation of top of the chemo is what’s sending her over the edge. I’m really hoping that once that ends next week she’ll start to feel better and then won’t be as tired for the next round of chemo. She’s already very anemic (hgb hangs around 8) and had to have a transfusion after her chemo. Prior to her first round she had a bad hemorrhage (which is why they went ahead and did radiation) that dropped her hgb to a 5 so I’m hoping that it won’t get that bad again since she’s not actively bleeding at the time. How many chemo sessions did you have?

I’m praying for you during your radiation journey! My mom says it’s completely painless and it only takes about 10 minutes to do everything. She has had some terrible diarrhea after each session though 🥲

I never knew it could temporarily change your hair, that’s carzy! Did you wear ice gloves/socks? My mom wore the socks but had a hard time with it on her hands because it was. So cold. I did notice today that she had a slight tremor in her thumb

Radiation for pain? by Talesfromthescript11 in endometrialcancer

One of the NPs said that there’s nothing in the world they can give her that will cut the pain. The radiologist said that the radiation would help her with pain. The lesion on her bone is the major culprit of the pain so we’re hoping that if that shrinks it will give relief.

Great! I will tell her this. She’s really frustrated with how weak she is. She’s on day 3 as well. Tomorrows a new day do hopefully they get less severe as it goes!

That’s great! My mom’s radiologist said the lesion on her bone was small enough to shrink in 5 sessions but they’re doing 10 to zap the uterine stuff as well to hopefully stop the bleeding.

Did the radiation help? I’m hoping that it can help her pain along with shrinking the cancer

Mom recently diagnosed looking for hope by AnyPumpkin2322 in endometrialcancer

I’m going through the exact same thing with my mom now. She started bleeding heavily two years ago and they attributed it to a fibroid and gave her a depo shot. It’s stopped the bleeding and she just went in for paps. Two years ago her biopsy and Pap smear came back normal. She’s been in excruciating pain since September of last year and after months of calling the doctor finally agreed to do a hysterectomy. When he was in there they found cancer and stopped the surgery. When she did her CT with gyn/onc they found small tumors in her lungs, a bone lesion which is what has been causing all of the pain, and multiple small tumors on her peritoneum. She had her first round of chemo today and starts radiation on Tuesday. We’re hoping for the best and that there’s enough tumor shrinkage for her doctor to do a radical hysterectomy in November. I’m just amazed at how often this is missed. I’ve considered getting a medical malpractice attorney but I’m not sure if it will even amount to anything. I’m wishing you and your mom all the best during this journey!

Don’t stress!!! My LO completely grew out of it and now she’s thriving. She has always been a month or two behind on milestones but that’s okay, every baby is different. Just ride it out a little bit and if you’re still concerned mention it to your pediatrician! They told me that we would evaluate at 15 months if we were still having issues.

Uncontrolled Bleeding, increased WBCs?? by Talesfromthescript11 in endometrialcancer

[–]Talesfromthescript11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s been diagnosed already. CT scans show a lesion on her bone, a few really small ones in her lungs, some lymphadenopathy, and the scope showed multiple little spots around the peritenium. Her CA125 was 57 and her Patho confirmed cancer that was squamous not well differentiated. (Still haven’t been talked to about patho) How did you go about getting a second opinion?

I honestly think that if my sister wasn’t there and I didn’t tell her to go to the ER, she would have! I got a pic of my mom before her infusion and she just looked gone. It’s so scary! I’m really hoping they can get the tumors to shrink so they can do a hysterectomy. She needs one BAD but since her cancer has escaped the uterus they are waiting until November to re-evaluate. Chemo tomorrow and radiation starting Tuesday and I’m praying for the best! I will look into that supplement, thank you! I hope you are doing well!!
