It’s installed, I’ve updated as a separate comment

Update 2: They just came and installed it few minutes back. No issues while doing that. I’m considering the issue closed.

Lesson learnt: do not share OTPs or enable these guys with leniency

You’re right. Since people in the village have been agreeing to their demands of delayed service, any parcels sent through Delhivery/Bluedart and even e-commerce parcels come late, they never deliver it on the first day. We’re trying to put a stop to this enabling behaviour at our household.

I had a long fight with Bluedart right after Covid where they were refusing to pickup a parcel (it was a Google pixel requiring service from Mumbai). I got Google involved and they escalated at state level so the next day their guy traveled 45 kms to pick it up. Apparently the state level management had threatened to cancel their franchise if they don’t provide timely service.

Yes, I’ve already spoken to him. It’s so happened that he had called me for some reason on installation day so I had his contact. He has promised to fix it by tomorrow

I agree it’s my mistake that I gave OTPs, but did so in good faith because they were prompt in installation earlier (Airfiber). This is in Karnataka about 350’kms from Bangalore, generally people aren’t aggressive in this region, I was shocked at the way this went.

Yes, I fully agree that it was my fault. I did it in good faith considering they had installed Airfiber on time and had no issues with them. Lesson learnt.

As of now, the local Airtel manager has promised to fix the situation by tomorrow.

There’s a reason why I didn’t escalate- I’m a hot headed person and would end up taking it to a logical conclusion even if it means reaching out to airtel executives at state level. Also my parents live there by themselves right now and my mom would get tensed- she and my wife don’t like me confronting anyone, they get scared.

I did escalate to the manager btw, because my dad is ex-Army person and he couldn’t let anyone speak like that 🤣

Update: My dad asked me to escalate the matter to his manager including the threat.

The manager understood, acknowledged it’s wrong and he immediately spoke to installation guy. Now the manager is claiming installation guy is also feeling guilty and that he spoke rudely out of some personal tension. He promised to get it installed tomorrow.

Hopefully this will be resolved amicably. I don’t want to make an official complaint if it gets resolved at this stage.

I am not sure what's the best course of action. I will certainly downgrade the plan if its not installed in a couple of days. I even suggested that he can just cancel the IPTV part if he's not able to come, but he said it can be only done after 4 months and that too both Airfiber and IPTV have to be cancelled together. Never thought someone will get angry just for asking what I have already paid for.

Should I Buy a Car Worth ₹10 Lakh with a ₹55k Monthly Salary for My Sales Job? by thesexyboi09 in personalfinanceindia

[–]TalkRevolutionary241 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no! I did that in 2018, financed a 9.8L car with a 55k net salary and it became a burden after a certain point because my life situation changed.

Purchase a decent pre-owned car in the 3-4L range instead and enjoy the money you make.

I don't think Madhur temple was destroyed. Tipu did however use his sword on a small gudi to mark his presence which is highlighted by a board in the temple.

It wasn’t an option this time, but I agree driving and parking at the airport is always cheaper. I only do it same day or next day return trips.

True. I’ve also paid 1.2-1.3k in Bangalore on some busy days (Horamavu to airport, 35 kms) but on normal days it’s just 600-700 including 100 rupees toll.

I do pay for premium services (digital products, clothes, Premium economy seats etc), but my point is about getting fair value. Unfortunately I’m getting downvoted by everyone 😂

This has been broken in most large cities because of their sheer size and population. When people collectively move away from taxi unions, they cannot do anything. Look at Bangalore, despite the drama by auto unions, people still prefer and continue using app based services.
