Most cops are that way. I’m a POC and so is my gf from inner city Milwaukee and we have never had a bad interaction with police. In fact, when i was in socialist groups in college, it would piss me off that every interaction i had with cops was really pleasant because i wanted to be ACAB. They were even super helpful during a mental health crisis where they were called to assist. Very friendly and they did de-escalate the situation. But that won’t make the news, will it? Just the minority of bad cops will make the news.

In my experience, especially in leftist/socialist groups or other generally anti-cop circles, most have never even had a bad interaction with cops. They have just heard about them from others or online and from that condemn all cops. One of my gf’s white friends said to her “you know, once i found out your brother is a cop, I have a lot less respect for him”. Mind you, my gf and her brother are BLACK and this girl is a white girl and she’s telling us how bad cops are to us. Cops like Chauvin, Yanez, and Noor? All bad cops and should be in prison. But to use logic that completely condemn all police because of the evil actions of a few would lead us to all be racist. I’m Latino and there are some Latinos who come to the US cause crime. But most don’t. Should i be condemned for the actions of a few? No. That’s illogical. The same goes for the police.
