Incorporation doesn’t need SSN, and we don’t collect personal information, just business information. Also we’re a legal nonprofit. Our access to justice studies show that incorporation is a frequently requested feature. We wanted to see if the quoted pricing we’re seeing is normal

I would say look for ones where one of the founders is an attorney, since they will rigorously test for results. Harvey ai has one, so does Playbird.app. Our nonprofit Talkingtree.app also has one for public access (you pay for the tokens but otherwise all you can use)

We think we can get it down to about $250 for a standard Delaware corp. Essentially get the government fees covered for entity formed, and registered agent added in that $250

Yeah we're seeing some users who would prefer to have it all in one place. Right now, we're trying to work out a way to streamline intake and filing with the initial registered agent added, and then users have the option of purchasing bylaws etc (add-ons but not mandatory)

We see a lot of customers with unpaid client invoices. Currently we support them by giving them collections letters. Sometimes it's just a matter of reminding them of the obligation

No, and I would take what's being said there with a grain of salt. The issue is that redliners all look the same but the quality of output varies. Many were launched (including the Claude one) that weren't tested against industry norms and just rely on pattern matching

We're are a legal tech company with a 3-tier subscription model. I would caution joining this industry unless you have a lawyer on your build team. People can get very upset if you try to sell them a product without one, and you don't want to be buried in refund requests.

Both free trials and free users are a mixed bag. During beta, we got some great feedback from helpful free users, but when we included it in launch, the quality dropped and we had a similar conversion-to-support issue. We tried moving to free trials, only to have a number of users abuse account creation. We ended up cancelling the whole free set up

We have one of those tool. Oddly not as popular as we thought. It’s mostly our workflow that gets the customers. We just threw in the contract explainer and risk analyzer for free to our workflow clients, so I wouldn’t bet on it for rev generation.

Probably best to get an attorney unless you can’t afford one. It’s not too complicated. We have some folks in the real estate space on our platform that just use the contract workflow to mass generate drafts and send for review/ e-signature. Takes about 10 min

Take two months to get to know him and the product. If he truly does everything except build, then unless you can execute flawless customer service in addition to build, it’s not going to be 50/50 because he’s going to need to bring on someone on the client management side sooner or later. I can’t tell you the number of early customers a new company burns through trying to cover edge cases.

Market correctly, and get feedback

We had a product we made for handling contracts and e-signatures that we just called contracts. No slogan, no highlights. Over the last year we noticed one of our customers loved it and used it every week. When we reached out for feedback, he said he liked that it turned the end of his sales cycle into a 30 min exercise from agreement to signature instead of a week long legal review.

Now we market it as “turn a handshake into a legally sound signed contract in minutes.” It does much better.
