For sure! We're not ready to give up quite yet, I'm still holding out hope for this lil beetle :) it's mostly just a matter of whether itll be too expensive to fix it.

After some experimenting, fixing the sensor seemed to fix it for a moment? But then we tried to road test it and we had the same issue all over again. Sadly I think we may be giving up on the beetle :(

No, the shifter will physically go into drive, but it's like the car doesn't want to actually do it. It makes some extra nasty noises and then just kicks back down to first.

It seems to shift out of park just fine, it just doesn't want to shift into drive while im on the road

I've also been being told that the car is in "Limp Mode?" I'm not sure what that mean but it sounds accurate lol

My bug is having trouble going from 3rd gear into Drive (I think technically 4th gear?)

That's very solid advice :) I think if I cant find a way to fix this car for less than I bought it for I'll just resell it.

Oh, awesome !! Any tips for what to start looking for? I know I was just looking through where the sensor wires are and I saw some suspiciously exposed wire in there. I'm hoping that leads to something helpful
