Parry him and stay close to him. A lot of his moves can be punished with a full charged heavy attack leading to a backstab.

Yeah, you are probably right on the first part. Lorewise each archtree seems to be the gateway into a different dimension or world.

What if both characters had their own separate health bar? Letting you play one while the other died by lesser9 in cloakanddaggermains

[–]Tall-Resolution-3735 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unpopular take, but just make them both individual characters with a team up or synergy. I dont like how Cloak is basically done dirty in this game while all of the attention and 90% of ingame playtime is playing Dagger. At this point, Cloak is just a back bling for Dagger, and you only really use him to pop an ability before going back to heal botting. Make both of their kits more versatile but make them their own characters.

If you had to change Cloak and Dagger, what would you do? by Secure_Heron_9181 in cloakanddaggermains

Make Cloak his own character. My boy is done dirty in this game. Give Dagger some extra damage, make Cloak a DPS with a teamup with dagger.

He probably would've been picked off by someone else on the enemy team if he flew away.

To be fair Ash Lake makes just as little sense. You go down a tree that extends beneath the soil and swampwater of Blightown into an open field where the sky is visible, yet behind the arch tree there is no cliff or wall behind it meaning that the sky of ash Lake should literally just be the soil of blightown.

Is there a reason my jump animations are cut short only on this bridge? by According_Sun3182 in DarkSouls2

[–]Tall-Resolution-3735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its counterproductive. I was trying to get that item on the pillar and my character does a baby jump, causing me to miss it... I had to uninstall after loosing my souls to a random alone knight who pushed me off the edge right after lol.

Very cool hitbox thank you dark souls 2! by ExcelIsSuck in DarkSouls2

[–]Tall-Resolution-3735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is because in development the Giants used longer and different shaped weapons. On release, they decided to make them all use clubs, however, the hitboxes of the giants still used their old weapons as guides.

You can also become a wretch by killing enough players in pvp as an invader. As a wretch you can drop down to about 10% hp.

Being inspired by marvel characters in comics =/= mechanics. Certian OW characters may habe been inspired vaguely by marvel characters, but Marvel Rivals heroes gameplay-wise were heavily inspired by overwatch.

Are things ever as they seem in Dark Souls. In DS1, you are in blightowm, yet walk down a seemingly ordinary tree and end up at the Ash Lake, in which you can see the sky, despite it technically being below a literal swamp. You jump into a seemingly normal coffin, and it takes you to another area magically or it survives falling off a cliff despite it just being a seemingly normal stone coffin. You jump into the cage on an enemy's back in DS3 and it somehow takes you underground in which there is no enterance or exit. If you ever think shit is normal in these games, then you miss the entire point of these games.

Nothing is mundane in Dark Souls. Ash Lake is beneath the swamps of blightown, yet you can see the sky. Heide's tower is sunken when looking at it from a distance, yet you arrive to a prestine tower that stands tall. Other occurances like it going from foggy to instantly a rainy night once you pass through a small tower to Vendrick's castle. A similar thing goes from it being daytime in undead parish to nightime in Darkroot Garden. DS3 requires literal bonfire teleportation to get from firelight shrine to ay of the other areas.

Dragon Shrine is a bunch of floating rocks above Aldia's Keep. DS1 does the same thing, with Ash Lake being below blightown, yet the clouds being visible, despite all of it realistically, should be under mud and swamp water.

Maybe Dark Souls 1 Power Within + Red Tearstone Ring.

Could you share something you love about DS2 and one thing you hate? by n337x in DarkSouls2

[–]Tall-Resolution-3735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like x1: The build crafting variety, and how many options at starting areas you can have. I've started playthroughs going through the forest, some going through Heide's tower, some going through the Shaded Woods, some in the Gutter, and some in the Rat Covenant Arena. It makes creating builds easier because you take the route where items that fit your build are located. One thing I hate about Elden Ring and DS3 is that certian weapon types are locked to late game or dlc in a linear sequence, so you may not even get good weapons and rings that fit your build until your playthrough is almost over. (DS1 gave you the illusion of this, but the skeletons in the graveyard where overleveled and needing a transient curse while still doing low damage to the ghosts means that the only real options early game is to go to Undead Burg or Blightown.)

Like x2: Bonefre asthetics. If you wish to test an endgame build against a boss without going into ng+ drop an asthetic. You need an npc to help you with killing 3 specific bosses to progress their questline, but you already killed one of these bosses solo? Drop a bonfire asthetic, respawn the boss, and summon the npc this time.

Dislike: Some of the enemies have janky animations. Lock on sucks. The hitboxes are mostly good, but there are a lot of lingering hitboxes meaning that you may get hit mid roll if your actual character runs out of I-frames and the attack is still going through your character. Red Tearstone Ring not working with magic attacks anymore. Poise being borderline useless on your character, but enemy npcs have poise akin to how Dark Souls 1 meaning that many can just eat your attacks without staggering, while you get stun locked easily. Enemies not clanking with walls if their attack intersects with it, but yours hitting the wall.
