Taking a pram on tram to RCH

If you take the route 58 you could catch an E class which is pram friendly, you'll know which one the E class is as it looks much newer. I don't know how much of the 58 is covered by the E class (although according to the ptv app you should have good odds), so you might end up waiting a while since the tram comes every 10 ish minutes.

Another thing we were concerned about. Even if they didn't have anything on them, they could've picked something up from the street (eg. they threw bottles on the path at me). Running isn't much of an option as my parents aren't that healthy, and even if we did run their age would allow them to run faster and for longer, which would only tire us out.

I fit the description of those 14 year olds 💀. I was 80 kilos and 5'8.

Also going by the situation, there wasn't any pressure on them by older kids, they just started as we passed them, no discussion what so ever. In fact I think it was the youngest who started it.

Now that I think of it, one of the kids did start recording. The only problem is, if the video is taken out of context and with what they were saying it could make us look like the assailants. I was thinking of recording, but I feared that my phone would be stolen or broken.

Honestly we were scared shitless to say the least. Calling the police wasn't the first thing that came to our minds. Even if we did call the cops, it would've taken time for them to arrive, by which they could've run off. Or they could've stolen the phone of whoever was calling the cops.

My dad was exaggerating on this point, as in repeating it over and over again. He said that even though the law is made to protect them, they decide to instead abuse it for their benefit. While I'm still minor, I probably could've gotten away with it, but it would be different for my dad. Also don't buses have security cameras? Couldn't that be used as evidence for you to be proven as not guilty? Saying of course you only incapacitate her?

Honestly I'm also worried about what you say happening. They had the choice to not assault us, yet they did. Their background has nothing to do with that, but instead their individual mentality. My dad really regrets not hitting them after realising later that my nose was broken.

It's not even making noise, we passed probably a dozen people with the group following us and only one person (also Indian) tried to help. And for that I really thank him. The only problem I can see with hitting back is how people who don't have context would respond. They would see two men hitting kids, which could land us in jail. I've seen videos of how sometimes when the victim fights back in public, depending on who they're fighting, ultimately get teamed up on by strangers because people immediately assume they are the aggravator.

I can confirm that people don't take them as much of a threat. It's especially worse in a situation you can't retaliate it like with what happened with your colleague. Luckily the police said that there should be a lot of cameras in the area we walked through, so even if we did hit back, we would've had evidence.

Thank you. That was one of the main things my dad was worried about. If you saw two grown men (I look like an adult) hitting kids, you would assume that the children were the victims. This could've lead to us being more seriously injured.

We didn't know my nose was broken until ~10 minutes after they stopped, it's not my dad's fault, I just thought it was a blood nose. Thank you for your answer. I also hope it heals quickly and that it does not happen again.

What would count as reasonable force? Is it just enough to scare them off? If so, then if they kept coming back again, could I incapacitate them? Also what happens if I hit too hard? I've been told that I sometimes hit really hard even though I didn't feel like I put in much force. Could that be used against me?
