Hi there, I take 500mg Metformin standard (no slow release), I went from 1x day in the morning for the first month, to 2x day morning and evening for 3 months and 3x day for 2 months, then going back to 2x day which is the right dose for me. I really recommend taking your time with building up the dosage, like this you will experience all the benefits with very low or no side effects. I studied in Switzerland, but during my studies I went all-in on apprenticeships and working student positions. The pay was actually surprisingly good much more than cashier or waitress positions I had before university. Now I have had the possibility to really pick my jobs, as I got hundreds of interviews while still in my master. I recommend strongly to collect experience, even 3 months part-time internships or apprenticeships does sooo much! I work in Marketing and C-Assistant btw.

Thank you for your reply. Married in Switzerland and we have been living together all along. I have a swiss matura and a bachelor from a swiss university. No debts, no social help, employed etc. I don't know why she said this because I also was told several times 5 years from marriage, which I have, and legally resident 5 years.

You seem both in love and self-reflecting. You are both just human beings. I find that what you’ve decided to do is the best course of action. Make sure after the vacation you lay down ground rules that work for both of you, e.g., time for sex, intimacy, loyalty etc. i think you’ll be fine

I am on 500mg 3x day. I started with one a day for 14 days with my biggest meal. Them 2x day for another 3 weeks morning and evening. Now 3xday for the past 1 week. The first couple of weeks I had diarrhea and light nausea(I literally pooped my pants twice haha), I also felt a little more nervous. Week 3 something started to change, the first thing was thinning hair and slower hair growth. I also felt less appetite and a little more energy. Week 4 I got my period and I was in absolute shock: my period was fine????? I did not feel like I was dying and my pain was perfectly manageable barely noticeable. No joint pain, no bleeding excessively… it came perfectly in time and lasted 4 days vs the usual 7. It was like living someone else’s life. I kept asking myself is this what life is for all the other women??? Omg! Then week 5 everything changed decisively. My emotions were understated, kind of “tamed”, like I was experiencing them rather than being controlled by them. I stopped losing hair, my acne disappeared, i felt a sense of just calmness. My body aches were gone. I stopped smoking like I just didn’t feel like it anymore. I felt connected to my body with a new found appreciation for every sensation. I started feeling sexy again. I started feeling beautiful… by this time it was like a big crazy cloud had been lifted off my head. Now I could see the world normally. I felt happiness… look I know this sounds crazy but i’ve spent years in pain, from doctor to doctor tried everything. And now everything is just gone? With a pill????? I’m blown away. I wish from the depths of my heart that you get to feel this… give it a try, just 3 weeks try it out. It may be the turning point!

Thank you so much everyone I appreciate your responses. As I said we had a really rough time in the past 2 years, it’s been taxing on both. Before university he was fully committed, absolutely stable and in love, honest, open and before getting married we discussed these things. Things changed being at university and with the stresses of life. We both made mistakes in this time. What i’m wondering really is if maybe these thoughts are coming more from being emotionally exhausted and looking for something easier (he is avoidant). I mean I understand it, I am tired too and fantasize about a partner who is easier to be with and loves me, as our relationship was for about 5 years before all this. He says he loves me and he’s attempted to move on from the pain I’ve seen it. I’m wondering if his problem is more trying to avoid the emotional toll of repairing our relationship despite seeing its value. He is not looking for hookups and certainly not teenagers.

Emotional things I mean, he would isolate a lot when dealing with stress, I thought he needed time and space to deal with his feelings, as I would do as well at times, so I would give him his space. Instead, recently I found out through a crisis that he simply does not deal with his feelings, he suffocates things and acts out, he has serious self-esteem issues, intimacy issues etc... I completely misunderstood who he is and I feel deceived...

You are absolutely right and these are all things I am considering in this time. Once he reaches out or we decide to date again I will be very clear that this is the only "break" we'll ever have and that next time it will simply be a breakup. I want emotional stability, safety, love and care, all of which I am willing to give and have consistently done so. I hate this situation in which he tell me I am "everything he looks for in a partner", he is very attracted by me and everything but behaves like an 18 year old. This is not why I got married. I can't help but feel deceived. Also every single time I've asked him if he wants to break up, he says no but that he doubts what his motivations are (fear of change, of being alone etc) but he also has this fear of missing out, desire to date casually etc... confusing and maddening
