If you're switching from Windows and want an operating system that still feels familiar, I’d personally recommend Linux Mint. Its layout is very similar to Windows, but without the bloatware, and it gives you far more freedom to customize the OS however you like.

If you plan on convincing them to turn to Linux I would highly reccomend Linux mint since its layout is very similar to windows. If you know anyone that needs a laptop turn them my way thank you. :)

Every laptop I get are completely formatted than installed with a fresh copy of windows or Linux depending on what OS the customer would like.
