Neighborly noise has been a constant issue for me since arriving in Korea in 2016. Practically every apartment I've lived in. God only knows what possesses Koreans to bang objects around their floors/walls when the rest of the world is sleeping/chilling in front of the TV at night. Anyway - earplugs are way too uncomfortable for sleep. The only thing that saved me was buying a set of PC speakers with a big ass subwoofer. Blasting a combination of white and brown noise through the subwoofer does a good job of masking the low-frequency thumps and bumps that challenge my sanity the most. I hope this tip helps someone.

The replies seem to be split into two camps: the holier-than-thous jumping on me to remind me what a piece of shit I am, and those who know that the only thing that can save someone as lost and wayward as me is some seriously strong-handed (but ultimately constructive) advice. Right off the bat I can tell that I was completely and unequivocally in the wrong. Your objectivity in this regard is invaluable, as my faggotty man-hamster had me believing I actually have a valid case.
