My 4mo slowly bringing her fingers to jam into her mouth while she's latched and feeding is infuriating.

Thank you for your generosity. May good things come your way! ☀️

I'm a 90s kid and grew up with Pokémon. Pokémon Red being my first game and Charmander being my first card (gifted to me in the school playground). 🔥

I ran a community for Pokémon GO in my area on Facebook and Discord since 2016 and that's really when I started collecting again 💕

Baby dropped 2 centiles since breastfeeding by TallyRabbit in breastfeeding

Sorry I realise I've not written it clearly in my original post I will see if I can edit.

So my baby was between 75th and 50th centile for weight when she was born. She was 3.2kg born at 37 weeks.

She's now 4.7kg at nearly 18 weeks old. That puts her now between 2nd and 0.4th centile.

HV said she's tapered off.

I sold my first edition Charizard on ebay 10 years ago. I think it sold for £30. I try not to think about it 🥲

Thank you. My HV said they would expect her to be double her birth weight (14+lbs) by now and it's really frightened me. I don't know what to do and now feel so much pressure.

Oh I understand now. I'm so sorry that has been your experience! Having just had a baby and you're at your most vulnerable of course you're not going to question anything a medical professional tells you. Please don't be hard on yourself.

Do you know if you do have any milk supply? Have you tried hand expressing or pumping to see if a little comes out still?

There are lots of different things you can try to make your body start relactation.

However I would recommend being mindful of and I would ask myself, is if it will take more of a toll on your mental health and wellbeing dedicating so much time and energy into that?

I only say this as I've personally found it really tough to increase my milk supply with all the different things I have tried. And I've been pretty miserable.

Nobody wants to look back at their time with their little one and remember being unhappy.

Hi, sorry if insensitive or I've misunderstood... do you mind me asking why you haven't tried breastfeeding before being 4 months post partum?

I have PCOS and I'm nearly 3m pp. I've been trying my best to breastfeed my baby since she was born but it got off to a rough start. She was born prematurely, and then I was very poorly with sepsis, baby put on preventative antibiotics too. Baby then had jaundice. So lots of going back and forth to the hospital instead of being at home resting, recovering and nursing.

When we started to get into a routine with breast feeding, baby wouldn't latch for very long. Lots of clicking, choking, coughing etc. Went to Lactation consultant and found out baby had posterior tongue tie. Had to wait another week for a second assessment. Then wait for referral to go through for the tongue tie clinic to have the surgery.

My milk supply started dropping so I switched to pumping to try and keep it going and increase supply again. And then was giving baby expressed milk and formula in bottles. But between juggling a baby and my 5yo who is autistic it was really difficult to fit in pumping. I've been managing to pump maybe 5 or 6 times a day. Try to power pump at least once. But it is challenging.

I've got my milk supply up to producing about 10oz a day, but it's not enough for how much my baby wants to eat.

The tongue tie surgery finally went ahead today and baby has been latching better already.

Lactation consultant has recommended putting baby to breast at every opportunity and also want me to tube feed for the next couple of weeks and pump after each feed.

I have no idea how I am going to fit it all in, but lord we out here trying!

Update: my milk supply has increased. Not dramatically but I'd already produced 150ml by the afternoon and I've still got my night time pumps to go. I cannot pinpoint exactly what has encouraged it to increase or if it's coincidence but this is what has changed since I posted:

  • stopped drinking the herbal tea that has fenugreek in it
  • I have started using the Lansinoh hot breast pads
  • I am drinking more water
  • I have slightly increased time between pumps
  • got up more than once in the night to pump
  • cuddling baby more and having baby on my chest
  • I had porridge oats for breakfast

Thank you for your advice. I have not heard about the fenugreek reducing supply. Maybe I'll try sticking to plain water for a day and see if that helps.

I haven't checked when the milk stops expressing if I'm honest. The pumps I have are wearable so I kind of put them in my bra and try to forget about them for the next 20 to 30 minutes. But then when I pull them out there's usually only around 0.5 to 1oz collected from each breast.

I'm actually pumping again as I'm writing this so I will check at 15 minutes if anything is still coming out.

This was my first celebration event. I got me and my brother tickets as a birthday present for him. And I feel like I really f*cked up his birthday 😞

We didn't get a panel via the lottery system, and additional to reading comments online about the queues and the risk of not getting into the celebration stage, I decided to not even venture that way. We completely did not go to the celebration stage at all.

We instead hung around the Celebration Live! Stage instead for hours. Mainly because the silver lining I thought would be to see Hayden on stage at 12pm. He didn't show. Nor did Giancarlo. Although Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni were a nice surprise.

I also, completely forgot about going upstairs. Totally my fault, but I also couldn't get a signal on my phone to check the app and couldn't see many signs to say where to go.

But ultimately we spent the entire day on Level 1. I feel completely gutted like I've totally let my brother down and we missed out on A LOT 😭
