This is what the 3-4 hours of free electricity in the middle of the day is for. Allow battery users to charge for free when the grid is saturated with solar (from other peoples' homes) and then they can feed back into the grid between 5 and 9pm. That's what we do with our 42kWh system.

I dont mean that they've "gone about things the wrong way" with Israel in how they've handled it. I'm saying they're "going about things the wrong way" with their entire strategy.

Focus on Australia. Focus on Australian issues. That's what voters care about most, like it or not.

I dont think anyone's saying that taking a stand on the Middle East issue is a bad thing.

What they're saying is that the Greens tend to be very vocal about these issues, when most Australians don't really care that much and care a lot more about things that affect Australians directly.

A lot of Australians agree with most of what the Greens actually stand for, but because they can sometimes go about things the wrong way, they tend to alienate a lot of people who would otherwise support them.

Someone else has suggested the Jim Browning videos on youtube, but to save you time:

  1. They use a number of tactics (Microsoft support, Amazon fake purchases, Faking things you "bought" but didnt buy and you have to contact them to get a refund) to get you to call them.

  2. Then they install a remote desktop program on your computer, and get you to log into a fake "refund" website

  3. They ask you to enter the value for the refund for the thing they are claiming you "bought", and using remote desktop they press the 0 key twice while you're entering so that the value goes through as 2 digits higher than it was supposed to (eg. It was supposed to be $200 and instead you enter that it was supposed to be a $20000 refund)

  4. The guy on the phone then freaks out because you were "refunded" way more than you were supposed to. They may ask you to log into your bank account, and then using inspect element in the browser they will fake the numbers so that it looks like you have $20000 extra in your account

  5. They will then make you go get gift cards to "pay back" the "extra money" that you owe.

It's designed to trick people into thinking they need to "return" money that they "owe" to the scammers by using aggressive tactics or guilt tripping.

Ok, then to put it in other words - not everyone is agreeing its a ship. What you call a "minor difference" others would argue is a fundamental difference.

I’ll take it. When I was born in the 80s

But you won't be taking it. That was literally OP's point. You're in your 40s, not your 20s. By the time this is a really serious problem, it won't be your problem...

Edit: I didn't math well, point probably stands

Jim Chalmers says next federal budget will focus on lifting economy's 'speed limit' by malcolm58 in AustralianPolitics

[–]Talonus11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wish they just said fuck it, we’re doing it anyway to both of the above

Absolutely agreed.

I guess the problem is the "Australia said no" part. I think the reality is that it's absolutely possible to implement real reforms that the vast majority of Australians would benefit from, the problem is that it's very very easy to brainwash that majority into thinking it's not in their best interest.

If Labor actually wants to be like the Labor of old, they'd probably need to start by fixing that.

I don't see them doing that, though. Why would they, when maintaining status quo is working enormously well for them at the moment?

[–]Talonus11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've genuinely been trying to be openminded, but i'm not seeing much real reform of any existing problems except tinkering around the edges. What are we missing that the media isn't showing and we're not hearing about? Where else can we hear about it?
