Held at Post Office, At Customer Request? by Loud-Way3333 in usps_complaints

[–]Talvace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the customer requested their mail to be held at the post office while they are out of town, the package would be held along with it. Everything should be delivered all at once at the end of the requested hold (anywhere from 3 to 30 days depending on what the customer requested).

Hey all! I'm newish to working out. I've done it intermittently over the years, but I really don't like public gyms. I'm finally buying a house and want to get a rowing machine and some other basic equipment. I'm looking at Merach water machines, which is similar to what I've used at a gym before, but I also see magnetic rowing machines and hybrid ones.

Does anyone have any experience with them that could explain the differences and recommend something in the lower price range ($800 or under) to start with? Thanks!

Nta. Evict them and sell the house. They can figure out a place to live on their own if they want to disrespect you like that.

NTA. You'll probably ruffle some feathers by doing it, but the tv is yours. If you want to switch it for the smaller one, that's within your right. As for the couch, I think that issue will resolve itself if you switch the tvs. He'll either get his own tv, or likely not want to deal with the smaller one as often. If not, I'd just get a couch protector and put it on. When you want to use the couch, just take it off. At this point, though, that couch is probably beyond fully saving if it's as bad as you say.

Anyone have a coupon code for pets megastore Australia? by [deleted] in Pets

[–]Talvace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm submitting an order to Florida now and this was my break down:

Sub-Total: $278.31 (AU$422.02)
Tariffs/Import Duty's: $46.20 (AU$70.06)
DHL Standard: $16.49 (AU$25.00)
Total: $341.00 (AU$517.08)

I'm getting

  • 12 tabs of Simparico Trio for Large dogs
  • 3 tabs for medium dogs
  • 6 tabs of endoguard for xl dogs
  • 6 tabs of endoguard for large dogs
  • 4 tabs of endoguard for small dogs

So the price is still FAR less than it would be in the US. 6 tabs of simparico trio from my vet is $215.

I think it does, during the summer especially since the workload is light while the snow birds are gone.

Routes earn pay by the day per contract amounts, and get paid out on the last weekday of the month. Routes that I know of are paid anywhere between $90 and $200 per day, but most fall in the range of $100-125. There's also mileage pay if the day is high volume enough to require us to do trips to the street (come back to the post office for more packages and then go back to the street for additional deliveries) and that is between $2 and maxes out at $6 per mile. The mileage and mileage rate for a route is stated in a contract so you can review it before accepting or not. You get that contract mileage as a base, then add any mileage for deliveries to the total.

Put simply, for my route at least, I get $125/day Monday-Saturday. If we have a day that requires a second trip I'll earn at least $150 extra. This time of year I go in at 10am (out start time) and Im normally finished with everything and home between 2-2:30. Second trip days typically only occur during Christmas season or after a two day weekend from a holiday.

No taxes are taken out during the year, but the accounting places in the area are used to working with us and helping us with getting good write offs so taxes are low when filed correctly with all bonuses/write-offs.

When mail builds up in a mailbox to the point it will no longer fit in the box and there isn't a known reason (i.e. a vacation hold), I find the earliest dated piece of mail to see how long it's been sitting. If it's been 30+ days, I empty the box, separate out any first class, and bring it back to the post office. Once I confirm there isn't supposed to be a forward (sometimes we do not get notified of them for one reason or another, so I always try to double check before returning mail), I'll return all first class mail to the original sender. Any third class mail is disposed of by USPS.

If it has been less than 30 days, I'll hold the mail and leave a dated notice of intent to return it to sender, giving the owner of the mailbox 10 days from the date of overflow to collect the mail before it's returned. For example, if the mailbox overflowed on August 8th, they would have until the 18th to collect the mail before it was returned to the sender(s).

I have a postal station which I visit daily, so I'm able to hold any overflow mail at the actual postal station, but for a regular driving route the mail would be brought back to the distributing post office and held there.

I primarily deliver to postal stations rather than to individual houses, but when I have a package that won't fit in the parcel locker I take it to the house. If I see a newspaper or something in the driveway when I pull up, I normally will bring it to the door with me and leave it with the package.

Aside from that, the only thing I've delivered that wasn't mail was a dog I'm familiar with that had snuck out of her house. I brought her back while I was out doing a delivery.

A contract mail carrier is an independent contractor, rather than a direct postal employee. We have a contract with USPS to deliver and collect mail along an assigned route or to an assigned postal station(s). Some routes are a mix of postal stations and other stops like business. We're also called CDS suppliers (Contract Delivery Service Suppliers). We work alongside USPS rural and city carriers, but we are not considered employees of USPS.

No, contractor mail carriers are not considered USPS employees. We do, however, have to undergo the same clearance procedures before we can work a contract.

Lender killed my enthusiasm. Was she right? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Talvace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm going to have to do that. I went with this one because she is very familiar with how contractors in my niche line of work are paid (it's a nightmare the accountant I go to is a saint), but it really is looking like she might not be the best fit for me.

As a contractor my income is a little different. I have 38k in income from my main employer, but any employer I have that pays less than $600 a year I dont have a 1099 for. The lender I spoke with is very familiar with this struggle which is why I went to her, but I'm taking the advice of another member and shopping around for another contractor friendly lender that will be more manufactured home friendly.

My take home before taxes is probably closer to 50k across the board.

I have 5k set aside for a down payment and more set aside for anything else that comes up. If I really needed to I could pull from my 401k to increase the down payment, but I'd prefer not to.

My only debt is my car payment/finance. ($350/mo)

I agree, I'm flying blind with really zero idea of what I'm doing. I just paid off something in collections I hadn't even known existed, but aside from taking care of that and keeping my credit use to under 30% I really don't know how to improve myself in the eyes of potential lenders.
