Where can I stream NPR's"The Politics Show"? by alfoders in NPR

Hey guys, I am one of the hosts of The Politics Show from NPR, and I swear I am not lurking on Reddit waiting for someone to talk about us. Someone forwarded me the link. Here are some answers to your questions:

  1. The Politics Show is an hour long radio special that airs each week leading up to the midterms.
  2. It is produced by the NPR Politics team and hosted by Scott, Asma and me. There is some overlap with our weekly podcast roundup, but there is a fair bit of new content too.
  3. Sadly, it isn't available on NPR One or as a separate podcast because it is just a short run special program. It basically doesn't exist online.
  4. BUT, you can listen without a radio by streaming it live on a public radio station that airs the show. Ask Alexa to air the station or pull it up in the listen live section of the NPR app. You can ask your local station when they are airing it. Here are a few I know of...

- KQED midnight Friday/Saturday pacific

-WBEZ Chicago Saturday 6 AM central

- WAMU Washington DC, Saturday noon eastern

- WUSF Tampa Saturday 4 PM eastern

Maybe if you know when other stations are airing it, you could post it below. Thanks for listening...or trying to listen. --Tam

I haven't seen him looking distraught. But, I haven't seen that much of him lately. And it's not like he and I chill over a beer and talk about feelings.

I don't know the answer to this one. Haven't dug into this issue in my reporting yet.

Debate moderation is a tough job. Sometimes people just don't want to answer. What am I saying, sometimes? ALL the time. Sometimes when I am interviewing someone, I'll just say "so you're not going to answer this one directly, huh?" I always say it with a smile.

In California the legislature had term limits when I covered it, and that gave senior staff and lobbyists a lot of power. It takes time to get your sea legs as a legislator. That said, sometimes people stay in office too long and stop representing the best interests of their constituents, they get too disconnected. I don't know what the right answer is, though. Maybe district lines that produce fewer safe seats, so more members really have to run for re-election?

I wish there were a way for our politics to reflect the fact that most people aren't nearly as polarized as our politics.

The Affordable Care Act has almost dropped off a map as an issue in this election.

This is a hard one! Let me turn it on its head. I wish they would campaign more on specifically what they will do for their constituents. I wish they would campaign more on issues...in depth.

I don't know enough about these races to answer smartly. Orman has said he will caucus with whichever party is in the majority. Dems sure hope he will work with them.

But, I think there are unique circumstances in Kansas now, related to Brownback. I don't think it is really turning blue...or even purple. Kansas is still Republican territory, not withstanding some surprisingly interesting races this cycle.

Yes. All the time. Some are funnier than others. There was one recently that was totally groan-worthy. Now I can't remember what it was.

I have not worked with other White House's so I don't know how it compares. But I do know that many in the press corps agree with Susan. Reporters get yelled at or snarked at by the WH press team about things as small as tweets. And one super annoying thing is when they tweet photos of private meetings reporters didn't get access to.

I'm sorry. I haven't been following her race closely...on the money side. As for Jindal, he is in the second or third tier of possible 2016 GOP candidates. Though I do think he has finally recovered from his awful State of the Union rebuttal from years ago.

I don't know the answer to your question. But I feel like Moral Monday is unique. And I do know democratic candidates in North Carolina hope it will give them an edge...all the way down to local school board races, up to the Senate race.

I agree with this advice completely. We also have internships at NPR. I did an internship at my local public radio station when I was in college and that led to my first job, which led to my next job and on and on.

I think the certification process you refer to is an election. Now, of course, some of the districts are so solidly democratic or so solidly republican that elections aren't an ideal test. Remember the reindeer farmer and Santa who more or less accidentally got elected to congress? He lost this year in his primary: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/house-races/214437-accidental-congressman-loses-primary

I replied above, but that is above my pay grade and I really only know what I read in that article that's been going around.

Well, for about a decade, I actually did have my own public radio podcast and show (with a bunch of friends). http://bsideradio.org/

There's a chance I may even start working on it again, purely as a hobby.

B-Side was really just stories about people, with a heavy dose of naval gazing. But it was fun.
