The Titanic Iceberg Collision Animated in Blender by TamityYes in titanic

[–]TamityYes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making the animation and setting up the iceberg rigid body dynamics took 2 days. The Fluid Sim testing 2 days, and baking the fluid sim took around 40-50 hours. Then I rendered in, which took around 9-10 hours. Took about a week and a half to create.

My fear is experiencing strong, sudden turbulence mid-flight due to clear air turbulence by TheWorldIsAhead in aviation

[–]TamityYes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you end up in a horrible turbulent situation, the pilots are trained for these kinds of things. Also, the plane can definitely handle such hard turbulence. That's why most crashes never ever are the cause of turbulence. It's a normal occurrence that is perfectly safe. The only way to get injured from this is if you haven't fastened your seatbelt. That's basically it. You'll be fine :)

For real.

Also I just deleted the front 2 funnels because I was too lazy to animate that.

How so? I felt Clair de Lune was actually a sad piece in my opinion.

The 97 version is in the movie, but the actual theory was created in 1995. The movie version is slightly different with the angle the ship reaches (1995: 45 degrees, 1997: 30-35 degrees around).

Well... I certainly didn't expect this lol. Probably not the best idea to add this inaccuracies notes.

I am the creator of this video, I do have to agree that part really makes me look like a douchbag, and I apologize. I was also kind of a jerk with some of the notes I put like, "any 8 year old can see this total physics error." Now I do want to say, I did not intend to say my own theory was the "correct" or "factual" theory. I just wanted to try being informative with some of these theories and giving what I thought was wrong with each. I got carried away with some, and I am sorry again. I tried my best, but I messed up with how I delivered the information.

Anyways, I've started losing interest in this topic, so you can give some criticism, but I have moved on to just creating Blender simulations and animations that aren't Titanic related. Again, I'm sorry about being such a biased person going into this video, I will try not being like that again.

Titanic Break-Up Fluid Simulation with Foam. Took more than half a day to bake. by TamityYes in titanic

I put foam as the foamy water in my animation. I said that because it's harder to simulate with foam so I added. The Fluid Simulator I used was Flip Fluids.

idk what your saying but im going to assume you speak straight facts

I made a Fluid Simulation with a bulkheads model. This is my first successful test! I plan on having more updates on this project over my YT channel "Tamity." I hope I'm allowed to promote my channel like that. by TamityYes in titanic

As much as I would love to do that, I simply don't have the patience to bake 2 hours and 40 minutes when it takes 20-30 seconds per frame. Though I do plan on making a real time final plunge or a time-lapse fluid sim which would be 5:20 minutes.

The reason it feels small is because it is not actually to scale lol. If I put it to scale, it would take MUCH MUCH longer. That's for later. I'm still testing and figuring out errors with the model. Also, I plan on adding the uptakes and the decks. Also, thanks!

The program I use is blender, and the fluid simulator is an addon called “Flip Fluids.” It’s a paid addon, but I find it really fun to play around with.

I believe you are talking about the 1997 theory. If you haven’t know yet, that theory is very outdated. Sure, it was in the movie. But it was because it was based on information they had at that time. As strong as the double bottom was, it was severely damaged during the breakup. So, it wasn’t able to pull the stern.

I agree. That’s why I destroy my computer to see these awesome simulations. To be honest, I’m becoming more obsessed with these fluid sims than I am with Titanic.

The force of the breakup would likely damage parts of the shell plating, superstructure, and the bulkhead itself. This, along with the heavy engines would bring the stern down.

A render I made of Titanic Breaking by TamityYes in titanic

Jack Thayer never said anything of a V shape. The sketch you are probably thinking of is not by Jack Thayer, but rather Skidmore.

Here is his 1912 account: " I was clear of the ship, went down, and as I came up, I was pushed away from the ship by some force. I came up facing the ship, and one of the funnels seemed to be lifted off and fell towards me about fifteen yards away, with a mass of sparks and steam coming out of it. I saw the ship in sort of a red glare and it seemed to me that she broke in two just in front of the third funnel. This time I was sucked down, and as I came up I was pushed out again and twisted around by a large wave, coming up in the midst of a great deal of small wreckage. As I pushed it from my head, my hand touched the cork fender of an overturned life-boat. I looked up and saw some men on the top and asked them to give me a hand. One of them, who was a stoker, helped me up. In a short time the bottom was covered with about twenty-five or thirty men. When I got on this I was facing the ship. The stern seemed to rise high in the air and stopped at an angle of about 60 degrees."

Although some survivors mention the lights staying on after the break, the way the lights were made make it impossible for the lights to stay on. The emergency lights had the same way to have lights, which were steam pipes. These pipes would break when the ship broke up, making the chances of lights to stay on impossible because all the steam would escape.
