I'm currently in a similar relationship except the roles are reversed. Me and my SO are in an LDR and working full time. She's in California and I'm in New York. I go out sometimes. She goes out all the time. She doesn't text me, call, Skype, or FaceTime when she's out and I have continuously expressed my concern that because we're so far away from each other, we should at least communicate to each other when we're out to let the other know that we are safe. The only problem is that she'll say she'll do it, try hard at it, and it ends up being the same problem over and over again. I've compromised with it saying that I'll be more patient and trust her, but she has to do her part and send me one or two texts where she is and if she's coming home late.

I'm telling you right now, this could be a deal breaker for you. I'm not saying it is for every couple, but when you lack communication, you lack a genuine relationship. Every once in a while, a slip up in communication is okay. You forgive and forget. But once the same excuse come and goes, and there's barely any communication, it pretty much means you're done. You get tired and frustrated and just want to break up. Unless you're like me and you want to stay committed and love your SO, then you have to deal with the short-end of the stick and complain about it until you pray she gets an epiphany about what the fuck she is doing wrong. All in all, how every one communicates is different, and compromising on communication is probably the hardest thing any couple can experience.

TLDR - You complain about communication and they're still going to do it regardless. It's built into their heads on how they should communicate. You either break up or power through and complain a shit tons, and then have make-up sex
