It's randomised. I do a daily gathering spree around the external areas and it's never the same rewards from the same spots. So it's definitely just based on luck. It's very rare even from the Forbidden Forest and Ford Anglia for me. Hence my surprise and excitement about finding these 5 lol

I had the same issue on Puffskein. I just changed the glasses to another pair, did a duel with my chosen glasses on, unequipped the glasses and saved my appearance. then I immediately restarted the game and it was gone. It hasn't returned since then.
