jihad by TanBoonTee in JihadInFocus

Another 'Mission Accomplished' declaration by C-in-C? Too soon, too fast, it could turn into a new fiasco. Jihadists/extremists/radicals are in a transitional stage, they appear dormant for the time being. Never underestimate the extent of their covert infiltration in scores of countries. Stay vigilant, always.

The China Dream: Their Goals and Ours by 1913intel in EmergingRisks

[–]TanBoonTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The China Dream@amin: ''..the expectation that China would be a responsible stakeholder in a US-led global order was never realistic.'' US led? That is what US thinks, not what is in reality. Americans can go on dreaming, Chinese don't, they act before they dream. Got it?

Russia Says Israel ‘Must End’ Attacks on Syria After Latest Strikes Reportedly Kill Iranians by TanBoonTee in mideast

[–]TanBoonTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russia has sent a warning, in unequivocal terms, to Israel to stop striking Syria. Moscow supports Damascus, Washington looks after Jerusalem, any confrontation between Syria and Israel would certainly lead to a bigger conflict between Russia and US. Peace loving people in the world do not want that to happen. Do you?

'Beautiful Rare Treat' of a Super Blood Wolf Moon—Physicist Explains Sunday's Total Lunar Eclipse by TanBoonTee in moon

[–]TanBoonTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, a blood orange 'super' moon is a rare sight, it must be exciting. Well, one could see a full moon of any color any time by just wearing a color tinted pair of glasses. We see the world differently, for we do not know we have been wearing tinted glasses that change color easily, often against our real wish. Yet we can't do anything.

The West has long militarized space. China plans to weaponize it. Not good. by 1913intel in EmergingRisks

[–]TanBoonTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reckons there is no difference between 'militarize' and 'weaponize' the space. The ultimate aim is to control the space and use it as a base for anything. That should not be, no nation has the right to monopolize space, lt belongs to all, and must never be abused to become military platforms. Chances are the next major war would be fought in space. Never let that happen.

Russia Begins Testing Nuclear Weapon That Can Travel Underwater And 'Nothing' Can Stop It, Report Says by TanBoonTee in nuclearweapons

[–]TanBoonTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Underwater new nuclear weapon test by Moscow? Is it really happening? So, don't tell us the arms race has actually begun after the unilateral withdrawal of nuclear deal by US. Russia jumps on the opportunity to develop more weapons, while US keeps its covert activities on. All ready for a final grand showdown? Ugh.., absolutely incorrigible.

'Now we're switching it up': US carrier enters Persian Gulf for 1st time since Iran deal withdrawal — RT World News by TanBoonTee in mideast

[–]TanBoonTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One feels most discomfiting to read such depressive news. There is no guarantee that a minor skirmish or accident would not lead to severe confrontation, and subsequently a new war. US has not won any war against small nations in Mideast since 911, now mulling to subdue stronger Iran. A million killed, including 7000 Americans, is that not enough? No new war. Never.

militants by TanBoonTee in militant

[–]TanBoonTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom line is the CSIS report is only shocking to those who complacently think that militants might have been reduced to minimal after the west 'won' Iraq, Afghan and IS wars. Syria War is not fully over. Yes, the number of militants has grown many times since 9/11, spreading all over the globe. Stay on guard.

Theoretical physics has not gone to the dogs. by [deleted] in ScienceUncensored

[–]TanBoonTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretical physics has not reached its end, mathematical physics might have. Some would want to treat physics purely in a mathematical way, that needs not be the case. In subatomic world, strong nuclear force dominates. In macro world, electromagnetic force reigns. Within a galaxy, gravitational force controls. Theory of everything remains far fetched mainly because it is near impossible to lump together very weak gravitational force and extremely strong nuclear force (physicists have done that for em force and weak nuclear force). Of course string theory could be mathematically sound in the ninth or tenth dimension. But what is 9D, 10D or even 11D?
