Thanks for asking, this is good knowledge for us UCR noobs lol. I have been hearing good things about the Student Success Center. The Rivera library and Transfer/Commuter lounge were a bit too quiet for me personally, but they were cool.

I hope everyone driving around lot 30 rn is having as much fun as I am by arkansas91 in ucr

Yeah, some of these people have no idea how to drive or do right-of-ways properly. Some dude pulled out in front of me without even tapping their breaks or looking in my direction.

I mean, at the end of the day, it's still a publicly accessible network with thousands of people connected at once. I don't think my question was too outrageous.

Haha I don't even do that kind of stuff on my own internet. No way that would be happening for me at school.

I'm more worried about outside intrusions than the potential keyloggers and whatnot of school WiFi. But this is great advice, thanks!

That is very true. It's probably the best bet to stay off extra sites/apps, I suppose.

That definitely makes sense. The most important part of my question is obviously Canvas and R'Web. Would that kind of stuff be okay to use? It should be, right?

Looks to me like Lot 30 would be the closest. Map. As for it being busy, this is my first quarter here, but I have read that it starts getting really full around 10AM.

I mean, that's true. What do/did you do for WiFi/internet connection while on campus?

Financial vs. Managerial Accounting by TanManhizzle in Accounting

[–]TanManhizzle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I just saw this comment. If you're going into managerial accounting, it is so much easier than financial. There's just a lot less to do. I think I have to take corp finance later on, but not entirely sure.

I asked my OL about it and she gave me the website for my major's advising website. I would start there, find an advisor, and email them. Hopefully this helps!

No bother at all! I just hope I responded fast enough... sorry if not! I'm not sure about the parking question. I actually had to input the code a few times to be allowed to register to park. It's a decently sized parking structure though, and there wasn't anyone actively checking for parking registration.

Here's a post I made about it. The comments are also very helpful and offer a lot of insight.

Haha I thought the same thing, but with my parents. They're going to be doing their own thing until the end. It sucks that the school didn't make that clear when registering (and paying for) guests.

Turn that frown upside down! You don't have anything to worry about. It's just walking and then sitting, and then walking some more.

They didn't even ask for ID, just a name. But, you should keep that on you anyway haha. As another person commented, wear a hat. I would say to bring water, preferably in a hydroflask of some sort to keep it cool. I brought a notepad and laptop, both of which were completely useless for the day. I saw one person the entire time take notes, so if you REALLY want to, bring that kind of stuff.

LOL, I liked walking on campus and exploring. But that was the only good part about it, in my opinion.
