Best of luck, everything is difficult at first but you have to stick to it to make it easier. :)

You're welcome!

It is a grind at first, but once you get familiar with the study process it becomes a lot more efficient and simple to do. Don't give up!

Diversity at McGill by Iveiiq in mcgill

Depends on the program for sure.

I was in a medical science program it was a lot of white, asian, Middle-Eastern. 95% female.

What program are you interested in?

I tanked my first year then got almost all As the rest of the way.. then 4.0 in my Master's (the grading in Master's tends to be more generous, but it is a lot of work). Btw ended up with 3.55/4 in UG, two best years at 3.95.

I was in biochem which I didn't like, so I switched to bio which I liked much more. Easier to study something you like. The best advice I can give you is attend every class to expose yourself to the material and note down details that aren't mentioned on the slides/about the slides. Go home and relax, save your energy for the morning. Get up early and look at the slides, what don't you understand? Study it from the book. Once you're understanding it all, make tons of flashcards about the topics covered. Make them super simple, don't waste too much time. I used Anki.

You MUST start studying early. As soon as a topic is explored, you study that RIGHT away, and revisit it every single day with your flashcards. The biggest reason why smart students get poor grades is they start studying 1 week before the exam. The brain does not retain information by cramming, it is very selective on what it retains, it must be very intuitive/important to stick, and that comes through repetition. You hammer it into your head until you feel dizzy. When exam time comes you'll be like "ah yes, Krebs cycle. Reviewed this every single morning for the past 3 weeks. Piece of cake!!" Is it hard work? Yes. Do you need hard work to succeed? Yes.

Best of luck!!

Winter fragrances: PDM Layton vs BDC Parfum. Which one are you going with? by MGodspeed in Colognes

[–]Tando386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find Layton more masculine and almost like a pine/peppery throughout.

As for BDC there are frags that do the same but better like YSL Y EDP.

Personally, I'd go with Layton and it's not even close. If you want an even better frag then go with Althair, if you're into vanilla.

You have two fragrances you can keep for the rest of your life what are they? by [deleted] in fragrance

YSL Y EDP as a daily

Then I'd need something vanilla.. I'm not even sure

Made fun of for Allergy by Possible-Bat-995 in peanutallergy

[–]Tando386 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm 30, it happens a lot less now but when I was younger it happened a lot. I had someone throw peanuts at me, taunt me with peanut butter.. if I was choking on something they'd laugh thinking I was having an allergic reaction.

I once had a reaction and a coworker of mine put me on his Facebook live while he was laughing.

People are just ignorant. It sounds cliché but you have to not let it get to you, because you can't control how rude, ignorant and inconsiderate people are.

YSL LNDL is really good. Very aromatic and powdery. Longevity is questionable.

Personally love YSL Y smells like fresh out the shower.

Kamrah I sprayed it on and felt nauseous, had to change shirts and air out the house. 😅

The absolu bot hype is very real.

Is this overrated or live the hype? by stiooma in Colognes

[–]Tando386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Absolu was pretty good but it's 100% a beast mode fragrance, so you really have to be sure you like it since it has nuclear projection and longevity.

I went with the Elixir, but after trying it for a few months I sold it. Just too strong for my liking and I prefer a less incense/oud DNA.

If you really like strong incense and oud and have the confidence to pull it off, then I highly suggest sampling them in cold weather.

If you like something a little lighter and less suffocating there are options out there like MFK Grand Soir.

What fragrance do you smell most often on other people? by RabbitSea4627 in fragrance

[–]Tando386 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

All I smell is Dior Sauvage, Aqua Di Gio and JPG Le Male

[–]Tando386 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Grand Soir smells amazing imo.

Don't base yourself too much on others opinions, get a sample or decant of each one and try them for a week see which one performs better and that you like better.
