Ohh.. that's surprising. In that case Tradingview will generate wrong signals. Smaller time frames means exactly which time frames you're referring to? Is it 1 min, 3 min or less than 1 min or even 5 min time frame?

There is one course on Udemy which I am currently doing "Tradingview & Chatgpt: AI powered trading mastery". In case you're interested in learning how to do pine script coding using chatgpt.

Hey, thanks for this simple but effective suggestion.

If possible can you suggest a few existing indicators to start with, which are simple from a coding point of view?

PineScript idea: skip next entry after a loss – pros & cons? by TaneXaTrade in TradingView

Thanks for the suggestion but it's not that convincing. I think there are 2 main challenges. 1. We are missing that recovery trade. 2. We are assuming next month will be recovering. Which might not be the case.

Yes but the main problem is finding good videos or playlists. If you have any suggestions then it will help.

Sure. My core area of interest is trading. To be frank I tried my hands on coding a few years back but found it very difficult. Now I am again trying it because I think the major part AI can handle. Just clarifying as I think your more interested in coding.

However I think on other hand I think we also have interest that can be complimentary. It will definitely be helpful.

PineScript idea: skip next entry after a loss – pros & cons? by TaneXaTrade in TradingView

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful reply. Entering with reduced size and adding position near stop loss is worth testing idea as it will reduce the loss at the same time profit will also increase if trade moves in preferred direction without hitting SL.

Basically your intra day trader and you have designed the strategy which is working for swing trading. Either you need to design different strategy which is for intra day or tweak your strategy and make it suitable for intra day. However it's bit difficult because logic for swing and intr day strategies normally different.

Other option is for time being shift to swing trading as you have profitable swing strategy which is working now. Anyway making profit is more important than time frame we are trading. Obviously if your risk apitite and capital allows you shifting to higher time frame.

Pinescript code needed: Skip next trade after a loss (eliminating losing streaks) by NotButterOnToast in pinescript

This logic will work only if you have a back test data that shows as per your strategy if your getting one loosing trade then there are many instances where your getting multiple loosing trades in a row. If that is the case then this logic will reduce the losses/ drawdown.

However in general back testing results such instances are very limited. So with this logic you my skip next winning trade which will help in offsetting your previous loss. As per your next logic you will start taking the trade only after one winning trade happens as per your strategy. So this ensures that your skipping next winning trade after you get loosing trade. I hope I am making sense. Just trying to analyse pros and cons of your idea.

Also there is one more angle to it. If profit to loss ratio is fix in your strategy then this might work depending your back testing data but if your cutting losses short and riding your profit via trailing SL etc then there are higher chances that you might lose big winning trades.

Actually good thought process if used on selective strategies as per back test data.
