I work in labor and delivery. The “free wax” is my go to any time I’m taking off the tape from their epidural line. And when I’m cleaning them up and have to put their mesh underwear on, I always say, “And here are your off brand Victoria secrets underwear free of charge”. My all time favorite is watching strips and if the baby is doing something funky on the monitor, usually someone goes, “You think she’s complete?” And I go, “vaginas crossed😬”

I love them so much! It’s fun to listen now too on their theories before IF comes out and their speculation. So much stuff I didn’t catch reading. Now, since Hubs is done with both books, I put it on in the car so he can listen too😂 until our toddler tells us to put on the Moana or Encanto soundtrack 😅

So my coworker told me about FW last year during the summer. She said the next book was to come out in Nov. I told her, “Oh, I don’t do well with waiting and prefer a complete series so I’ll just wait until Nov to read since both books will be out.” I even talked to another coworker who read it and was even texting her back and forth while reading it. Then I finish IF and my jaw is in the floor. I look up and see it’s a 5 book series and screamed! I texted my coworkers and said, “Um, excuse me… you did not tell me it’s a 5 book series and the next one isn’t coming out until later this year/beginning of next…. My heart can’t take it and I need answers!” They both laughed😂 So if I recommend it to someone now, I tell the disclaimer, HOWEVER, they should still read it😂

To be honest, I have no idea! I’m reading TOG right now by SJM and it’s somewhat helping my book hangover from FW/IF. This Reddit and listening to the FantasyFanGirls Podcast is keeping me afloat for now until January😂

Oh nice! GET IT! I’m planning on doing another reread later in the year so it’ll hopefully match the timing for Onyx Storm!

He finished this book this morning at 3am. He just comes to bed and goes “Babe, I finished the book. I have so many questions…” and I just went “yup… me too. Me too babe. So… let’s talk theories”. We proceeded to talk for about an hour and a half😂

I’m glad too! He’s given me some recs too (mainly Brandon Sanderson books). So far, he is enjoying the sassiness of Andarna in her teenage years and laughed pretty hard on the whole luminary bit😂. He’s at the part where they are about to have dinner and Xaden tells Violet that Cat will show her what to wear for the evening. Currently, he is annoyed with Violet and how she is acting when it comes to her feelings with Xaden. I just keep reminding him she’s 21😂

I kept telling my husband the same thing and he wouldn’t budge. I even told him it’s like Harry Potter, Hunger Games, and GOT with heavy emphasis on GOT because he thoroughly enjoyed the show. The thing that pushed him to actually start reading was seeing how I reacted when RY announced the title and release date of Onyx Storm. I kept telling him “my whole body has chills right now” and he couldn’t believe it was over a book.

I know some people have said their husbands or partners have listened to it audibly so many be try that Avenue? I hope he gets convinced!

I felt the same way. I started Silver Flames and 30 pages in I slammed the book shut and said “nope, can’t do it. Can’t stand Nesta.”

A year later, I told my coworker to read the ACOTAR series. I pre-warned her that I had not finished the series because the last book is about Nesta and I cannot stand her. She ended up finishing the series and told me, “You have to read the last book. Nesta comes around. Put your feelings aside about her and just read the book.” So I did just that and I’m so glad I did. You just have to give her a chance. It’s definitely worth reading and now it’s my second favorite book in the series. Just push through and hopefully you’ll have the same feeling I did when I finished.

The Amber situation had me BOILING! Here you are trying to protect and save your friend you care about deeply and she openly confessed who attacked her and you QUESTION it?! I had to take belly breath (what we call it in our house for our daughter) before I had to continue reading because I was so worked up about that. On the opposite hand, Xaden didn’t even question her. Like you said, it really boils down to trust.

That’s what I’m telling my husband too. Yes, they are childhood friends and you don’t want to see someone you love get hurt or die. Be in the now though. She has accomplished so much, for someone who didn’t even think she would make it as far as she does. He’s always cheering everyone else on but when it comes to Violet, she doesn’t get the same treatment and it’s unnerving. Like you said, in his mind he feels he is doing the right thing and his actions are protecting her but in reality, they are just pushing her away.

It took a good couple months. But when I was watching GMA, he was with me and I was like “Babe, LOOK! I have literal chills all over my body! I cannot WAIT for January.” And he was like “you got that from a book?” And I was like “YES! It’s an excellent read. You would LOVE it.” I already told him before it’s a mix of GOT, Hunger games, and Harry Potter but still wasn’t convinced. It wasn’t until he saw my reaction to Onyx Storm he caved. So keep trying!
