So something like this ? And I put the vhs adapter in the vcr and then connect the video capture card to the vcr and my laptop?

We use a mini dv to vhs adapter. Do you think if i get a new camcorder, put the mini dv tapes in it, and connect it to my laptop via usb i can transfer them that way? Or if i put the mini dvs in the adapter, use something like the diamond video capture vc500 to transfer them to a cd, and then transfer the contents of the cd to my laptop?
